At any other time, this statement would be wholly unremarkable. In the thick of a GOP presidential primary, though? Right after the the hottest hot-button social issue of em all has gone nuclear? When Mike Huckabees vowing some sort of second American revolution in defiance of the Courts ruling?
Kinda newsy.
I believe that marriage, as the key to strong family life, is the most important institution in our society and should be between one man and one woman. People who disagree with the traditional definition of marriage have the right to change their state laws. That is the right of our people, not the right of the unelected judges or justices of the Supreme Court. This decision short-circuits the political process that has been underway on the state level for years.

The 2nd amendment is the last resort for all of us. However, the southern governors are falling like dominoes regarding the Confederate flag. Perry, governor of Texas, was willing to forcibly vaccinate teen girls.
Time will tell who is going to stand firm and resist.
It’s like when a person falls on hard times and the people you think will support you turn on you, and the people you didn’t would be there for you, are.
We shall see.

Here’s what I would say. Marriage is society’s way of assuring that the two parents assume their responsibility for their child. Marriage provides a stable environment for the child to develop in. Marriage is based on human nature and is not an arbitrary invention of a religion.
Same sex couples cannot reproduce and resort to abominations such as “surrogate “ “motherhood “, sperm “donors “ and other unnatural methods to pretend they are parents. Therefore this ruling is invalid and has no binding force.
The wailing from the left would continue for years.
Very often, folks on this site will point out that we are a republic and not a democracy.
The difference being, we’re not governed by mob rule (i.e. whatever the majority votes for) but by law (i.e. what is written in the Constitution).
Today’s ruling points out a flaw in that concept: the 5 justices decided that what is written in the Constitution overrules the popular votes in the states that banned gay marriage. The flaw is that the 14th amendment, upon which the majority opinion was apparently based, is being twisted in meaning and widely applied to cover every progressive whim.
The agenda driven justices pretended to follow the intended construct in a manner that was never intended by the framers of the Constitution. But, they are still, technically, Constitutionally constrained.
My son-in-law wants us to go log some quality range time Sunday. In multiple calibers. Here in Alabama. *wink* *wink* He's got the hots on to run some .410 slugs through his spanking new Taurus Judge. And I got a few pistols that have cooled off too long.
Rubio is a marshmallow on two legs.
‘the rulings yesterday and today have NOTHING to do with law.’
And even less to do with a republican form of government. What we are witnessing is the destruction of a Representative Republic.
Few Legitimate ‘polls’ IE elections have produced same sex marriage in states. As a matter of fact I am not sure if any public referendum has ever accepted SSM in an American state. i know some legislatures have approved it.
Exactly right. Every thing the NAZI’s did was 100% legal. EVERYTHING they did was legal under German law.
It is precisely because we live in a republic that we must not abide by this “law.”
Rubin is a worthless piece of RHINO excrement...
You might point that out to illegitimate (in MANY ways) Obama and the Demmunist Party, Marco.
We certainly don’t need another manchild in the WH even if there is an R next to his name. Marco the manchild will be walking this back just like he did with his immigration stance in 3..2..1.....;
so very sorry I voted for you marco you piece of shit.
Wrong answer, Señator Rubio.
Been saying the same thing. Immigration, drug, DOMA laws are ignored. Courts making their own laws then why the hell are we still going by the law?
