Insiders worry the mogul will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities.
All jokes aside, the Republican Party is officially afraid of Donald Trump.
He has virtually zero chance of winning the presidential nomination. But insiders worry that the loud-mouthed mogul is more than just a minor comedic nuisance on cable news; they fret that hes a loose cannon whose rants about Mexicans and scorched-earth attacks on his rivals will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities and desperate to win.
Donald Trump is like watching a roadside accident, said former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer. Everybody pulls over to see the mess. And Trump thinks thats entertainment. But running for president is serious. And the risk for the party is he tarnishes everybody.

Sarah does support Donald running, said so.
She may support Trump. She may not. We will see.
It’s Ted Cruz or Lose.
I said just that in my post # 100. Learn to read.
She may support Trump. She may not. We will see.
lol! Ummm..right.
Sarah doesn’t appear to be focused on Presidential politics this week.
That doesn’t mean, next week the subject is still off the table.
I myself would very much like to see Sarah Palin return to our national political discussion as a Presidential candidate for the 2016 election. Big time.
I prefer Palin, to Trump, actually.
All of that said, if Palin doesn’t run, I’m all for Trump crashing the party the way he is right now.
His heart is in the right place.
Sarah seems to also think so. We shall see.
Well, at least that’s how I see it.
Good luck to you then.
You are so right...GOPe like Romney, McConnell & Boehner are afraid of their own shadows. Will they learn anything from Trump-Bump? I doubt it.
You are a fighter at heart..... I am glad you’re on our side.
I can support Trump because he is America First Nationalist, with a spine. The professional politicians are a joke, ALL OF THEM. I am ready for some one who puts national interest first and not afraid to act.
The so called conservatives like Cruz must obey their sugar daddy rich donors who command them to support Pacific Trade Pacts.
What is the alternative to the GOP? Honest question, why can’t the GOP be a big tent?
U.S. is a de facto 2 party system and is split down the middle. Conservatives cannot win without GOP and GOP cannot win without conservatives.
Of course the GOP takes conservatives for granted. Just like the Dems take gays and tree huggers for granted. Actually I would say the Dems have it worse because the Green Party does take some Dem votes.
B4 you go vote for Trump. I had “Burnie” for my congress critter in one form or another for over a decade. We cannot allow that Marxist fool to be elected.
You had better decide on another candidate because your liberal hero isn’t going to get the nomination. What then?
It is too early, no Pundit knows who will win nomination. I have 4 possible candidates I can see supporting.
But early polls are showing Cruz is dropping and not connecting with voters. Do you have a 2nd choice?
Think about this...if republicans are discouraged from voting, who benefits? Ding Ding Ding! The democrats! That is a common tactic from the dark side.
Cruz is fine. I haven’t decided on a second candidate but will if necessary. If and when I do it won’t be a lib. Maybe Fiorina.
Thank you Gator. I will always fight for the conservative cause. Especially when I see it threatened by a liberal fraud like Donald Trump.
Wow, I've never heard it said so clearly.
There are a hundred million people who don't have jobs.
Not all them want jobs, but those that do are certainly looking at Trump because he is the only person running who has put the American Worker ahead of everyone else.
You're not alone, there are fifty million or more just like you.
It doesn't take a genius to figure that the majority of them will probably vote Trump.
Even the GOPe has figured that out.
And he hasn't sold out like Cruz did when he turned his back on those hundred million people..
Speaking of changing positions;
First Cruz turns his back on the hundred million out-of-work Americans.
Then Flip-Flops.
Sometimes it doesn't take who changes positions more often than most people change their socks.
to betray a huge chuck of America.
How's that for The time you wasted writing to me would be better spent doing some actual research.?
It is funny you keep saying Trump is a lib without providing any evidence. The MSM is calling Trump Extreme Right Wing Buffoon! lol
Since more people see and read MSM than your posts, very few must think Trump a lib.
