At this point, I think this is the course for more conservative states to take (i.e. cease to issue licenses).

The crazy thing is a very small percentage of gays will get married. Gays represent 3% to 5% of the population and I bet a large majority will not get married. The only good thing is now they get to experience Divorce!
Yep. A generation or so ago, the states generally got involved to safeguard public health - requiring blood tests for syphilis, primarily. That role ended long ago, so the license fees are just helping to pay for bureaucrats' jobs. No point in continuing that.

I for one will not attend any gay weddings. Period. I don’t care if it is one of my kids. They know where I stand.
The “blue” counties are jumping all over this in a breakneck attempt to be the first.

I pointed out that there was nothing in the court ruling that said I must be gay to enter a same sex marriage. There was nothing that says I or my “husband” couldn’t have live in girlfriends. There wasn’t even anything that says my “husband” and I would need to live in the same house.

Frankly, really cynical people can take great advantage of today’s ruling. Let’s say that you have a male friend who has a job that includes excellent benefits. You could marry the friend JUST for the benefits, because, as you note, there is no legal requirement for either of you to be homosexual in order to enter into a “same sex marriage”.
So how is anyone to tell who is the rooster and who is the hen?
