33,636 people died due to gun-related causes

I'd assume that number includes people killed while committing a robbery or other felony..............................

This does not tell the entire story. Broken down by counties and then cities paints a better picture, married with population for those counties/cities.

Let’s talk homicides, because for gun deaths you include accidents.

Everyone knows there’s really no real men in Massachusetts or Hawaii, they’re commie feminine there.

Deaths per 100,000 people. So high population states will show low numbers and low population states will show high numbers. Perty slick of those lefties.

I have a copy of this book from the early 50's and it's still in print. It tells all about how to manipulate 'statistics' for your own agenda.

According to the Center for Disease Control, 33,636 people died due to gun-related causes in 2013, the year with the most recent data.

About half that number are suicides. Factor in criminal on criminal homicides and the rate is much lower yet. By the time you get to innocent people killed by someone they didn't know, you're down to the same rate as in most other western countries, if not lower.

"Kaiser combined together various firearm-related causes of death, including assault by firearm, police shootings, suicide by firearm, and accidental discharges."

They need to conflate homicides with suicides to make that graphic happen. (Statistically, police shootings and accidental discharges are not very common.)

In New York City, for example, suicides using a firearm are rare, because firearms are rare. Conversely, the rates of suicides and possible suicides via drug overdoses, jumping from bridges and high buildings, and jumping in front of subway trains are high.

I'm much more concerned if someone who doesn't want to die is murdered than I am if someone who wants to die, does die. I don't see how it matters at all if someone chooses to commit suicide using a firearm instead of jumping in front of a subway train. The New York state homicide rate is more than twice the Montana and Wyoming homicide rates. I'd choose to live in Montana or Wyoming over New York in a heartbeat.

“Homicide” is the only important stat.Suicide...accidental discharge...hunting accidents...these things can involve all sort of objects.Homicides can also be committed with all sorts of objects.

33,636 people died due to gun-related causes in 2013

Including Police action. Home self defense, and all other justified shootings.

What percentage were Blacks while committing a crime, I wonder.

As long as they make no distinction between murder, suicide, accidents and self defense, these numbers are meaningless.
As they no doubt are meant to be.
It's like publishing numbers on "death by pharmaceuticals" without any distinctions whatsoever.

The Map showing the number of criminals that decide NOT to commit a crime because of an armed populace is where?

The map is inaccurate because the data excludes counting people who are killed by gunfire from the police.

Here's a table that breaks things down by metro area. It does show what we would expect... some of the highest rates per 100K residents are Baltimore, Philadelphia, etc.

They conveniently look at this from the state level and not the individual cities. Take Louisiana for example. If they strip out the New Orleans data, where does the state rank? My guess is that it would fall much lower down the list.

Meaningless data if you don’t take out suicides...

Suicides are the number one cause of gun death...

Map is build to buttress a agenda...
