“The right wing are crazy! What they’re saying about getting rid of the IRS is insane, and I think almost traitorous…”

Hardball June 19.

* The following clip has been edited to make Chris Matthews look as bad as possible as per MP’s loose journalistic standards.

Crazy Chris Matthews basically accusing Ted Cruz and Rand Paul of being Traitors for wanting to get rid of the IRS

We discuss it here, not on PMSNBC.

They get nothing from FR.

The 16th was never ratified, so it doesn’t have to be repealed.

All we need is for the leaders in congress to simply point that fact out; it is well documented.

Every state that acted on it modified it, so the text of the 16th was never even taken up by any state.

“I don’t know why they even go there. You simply can’t abolish the IRS.
It’s how we fund our Army and government, etc et”

We had all those things for more than a 100 years before there was an IRS.

We don’t need the IRS to fund anything. All revenue can in fact be raised thou sales taxes and tariffs. Income Taxes are simply a particularly intrusive way to take money from the people. They discourage savings by reducing income rather than discouraging unnecessary spending by increasing costs.

As for every other agency and program in the Federal government not enumerated in the Federal Constitution’s enumerated powers they should all be abolished.

The false prophets of the Cruz haters are restless.

That Curtis Ellis koolaid must be mighty potent.

If this be treason, then count me as treasonous too.

.
The text of the proposed 16th amendment was never taken up for a vote by any state.

Instead each state differed with the proposed amendment and offered corrected versions for the congress.

If the 16th is to be considered ratified (which it cannot) all of the correction made by the various states have to be accepted as the true amendment.
