A federal law enforcement source has identified the man suspected of killing nine people inside a historic black church on Wednesday evening as 21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof. He was captured Thursday morning in Shelby, N.C.
....Since January, Roof has been arrested twice, both at the Columbiana Mall in Columbia, S.C. According to arrest records obtained CBS News investigative producer Laura Strickler, on February 28, Roof went into a Bath and Body Works store wearing all black and asked "out of the ordinary questions," including how many associates were working, when they closed and what time they leave. Mall employees complained and when an officer approached him Roof said "his parents were pressuring him to get a job." The officer noted that Roof was becoming increasingly nervous. He searched Roof and found "orange strips" that Roof said were "suboxone," a Schedule 3 narcotic. Roof was arrested and his 2000 Hyundai Elantra was towed.

Just as many gun owners don’t commit mass killings, the majority of people on suboxone or other drugs don’t commit mass killings.
The killing is the problem. Not the drugs. Do you really think that if we ban all psychiatric drugs that mass shootings will stop? Could it be that these people are crazy enough that even anti-psychotic medications can’t stop them from being psychotic?
Despite all our best efforts, when you have a populace as large as we have, some outliers are going to pop up and do abnormal things. Do you think an anthill never has an ant that goes off the rails and doesn’t do what it is supposed to? Maybe even kills a few ants? Chimpanzees kill other animals all the time. Baboons are violent violent creatures. We can’t stop all deranged individuals in our society, whether it be from banning guns or drugs or any other convenient scapegoat we can come up with. In a society with billions of individuals, some of them are going to be defective in a way that affects other individuals.
More guns, or metal detectors in more public places will probably be a better fix than trying to pinpoint ways that the outliers may cause harm.
If this particular church had had a metal detector at the door, this probably wouldn’t have occurred within its doors. Would he have maybe sat outside and picked them off instead? Highly likely. Would more guns among the innocent have helped? Most likely, but who knows, panic may have occurred and more people might have ended up dead.
Horrific shit is going to happen. It’s the nature of a planet with billions of people on it.

I was on pain meds because of post stroke pain. I knew the doctor i was seeing was in a stage of dementia but i was too lazy to go somewhere else.
He gave me oxycodone and subutex together!!! that is one of the most dangerous combination there is. It ripped my head and body apart. Made the stroke symptoms 20 times worse and I have never been the same.
It’s a synthetic drug and I had the WRONG doctor. I have NEVER been addicted to anything but food. He told me taking them together would help the pain alot.

Was he proscribed the suboxone? Or did he hunt it down by himself? That wasn’t clear to me and sorry, if the articles stated so and I missed it. I did read it called “pharmaceutical”.

They sometimes do when cops play doctor and cut those drugs off cold turkey for the War on Drugs.
Psychotic. He tells people in a church that he is killing them because they were raping white woman. That is about as screwed up as a human brain could get.

I cannot find the article but, I read somewhere today that 31 of the most recent mass killings have been committed by persons on psychiatric drugs. And that psychiatrists tell LE to hide that from the public in fear that those on the drugs may stop using them.
