Wenner Media has laid off more than a dozen staffers on Wednesday across Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men's Journal magazines.
The cuts include multiple senior level edit staffers, including David Fricke, senior writer at Rolling Stone, Sasha Morrison, fashion director at Us Weekly, Albert Lee, special projects at Us Weekly and Kevin O'Leary, senior writer at Us Weekly.
-snip-
An editor not a part of the cutbacks: Sean Woods, the deputy managing editor who oversaw the discredited Nov. 2014 University of Virginia campus rape story.

Layoffs in this roaring Obama Economy?
Say it isn’t so...
and to such nice wholesome people also.
It appears they ARE gathering moss.
Chickens. Roost.
It is hard to keep from thinking this might have something to do with the UVA thing, but (a) they'll never admit it, and (b) the old-line media ain't doin' so hot these days.
I’m sure the big salary liberal editors who got axed are thrilled that their former salaries will be going to pay for the lawyers to defend the UVA lawsuits.
Lesseeee...a dozen Rolling Stone staffers .....
That comes to a total loss of around six hundred IQ points, give or take a couple.
I hope this magazine dies painfully.
I read a copy waiting at an office.
They had a really extreme pro-abortion article that totally demonized conservatives — what’s that doing in a music mag?
They’ve been doing that stuff for many, many years now. Their spiral into oblivion is inevitable at this point.
Not sure if anyone I know reads that fish-wrap any more. Back in the 60s, it had some good rock and roll inside stuff.
.....and hunter thompson
LMFAO ,,,, couldn’t happen to a meaner group of libs ,,,,, I love it !!!!! good news !!!!!
Every time a lib loses its job, Another Angel Gets Its Wings.
Pelusi would say these leftist hack editors have been liberated from employment.
If they can boost advertising revenue, they can save those jobs. They just need a really big story to draw a lot of attention to their in-depth reporting. Maybe they could find a photogenic female victim of a violent frat boy crime. That should work.
They fired a long time music writer but probably kept 3 political writers on staff.
Rolling Stoned has about a much to do with music as Music Television MTV does.
Hunter Thompson, Cameron Crowe, P.J. O’Rourke.... It used to have some good writers.
BTW, do you know that Jann Wenner came out as gay, left his wife for a man?
