House Republican leaders are cracking down on rebellious members after a near-disaster on a trade vote last week, but another imperiled rule coming to the House floor Tuesday is making it difficult to punish members leaders need to pass the measure.
Reps. Cynthia Lummis, Steve Pearce and Trent Franks have been removed from the whip team after they sided with GOP rebels to vote against a rule governing debate on a trade bill, according to sources close to the team.
Lummis, a deputy whip and a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, was perhaps the whip team's highest-ranking bridge to the conference's most intransigent members. Pearce and Franks are also very close to House conservatives.
But House Majority Whip Steve Scalise had said earlier in the year that he would not tolerate members voting against rules, and has already removed two other members close to the conservative movement.

Tell me again how electing the Democrat to Boehner’s seat would not have been an improvement.
I think the GOPe leadership needs a midnight blanket party myself.
Personally, I think the only good representatives we could get for Congress are ones we’d have to kidnap in the dead of night and sequester them in a military barracks near DC and bust them every morning to do their job....at the end, if they’ve saved our money and freedoms, we let them go home.
Republicans & Dems pass TPAuthority.
Nancy gets her mind right and helps Obama & RINO's pass TPP.
Conservatives then vote NO on TPP and claim we can't blame them for Obamacare size secret Presidential trade agreements with limited public review and no amendments.
Consider, the 3rd party vote is effectively the protest vote... for decades, despite Americans disgust with their own parties the protest vote has consistently never broken above single digits... a Statistical impossibility.
Also add in the following facts:
1. Republicans agreed to not investigate democrat vote fraud:
http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/gop-legally-barred-from-fighting-vote-fraud/
2: Democrat’s actively working to elect Rinos - See eg the Cochran race.
3 Motor voter invites massive vote fraud - it only needs registered voters living or dead to create massive vote fraud. There is no way to verify the votes match up with the names the ballots were sent too.
4. Open primaries destroy the two-party myth.
Until the People put a stop to open primaries, motor voter and illegal back-scratching agreements between the ruling classes’ uni-party preservation system, no 3rd party will ever be recognized as a election winner in a national election - regardless of the way people vote.
Wow. You mean, they’re using Nazi tactics against those who opposed the wonderful Trade Bill??
Where are the trade bill supporters on this latest action, by Repubie *Leaders*?
You mean...it’s all a shell game?? Our elected Reps would play this evil trick on us? /s
There is nothing in congress that resembles what the founding fathers created. A person works hard and gets elected by the people in his district then gets “punished” for not voting the way he’s told.
I wish some big bruiser would get elected and tower over Boner and say “You no tell me how to vote, little one. I crush you in my bare hands. Now, stand there and wet yourself.”
I told them they were incorrect. I am *actually* supporting a *second* party.
Another flash of brilliance, sir.
Vote on the rule coming up, debate has started.

Loving it!
Go David! Beat Goliath!
The reps booted are from Wyoming, New Mexico and Arizona, respectively.
There’s the Freedom Caucus led by Jim Jordan, Liberty Caucus led by Justin Amash, the Tea Party Caucus, and the Republican Study Committee led by Bill Flores.
I’ve been saying we should allow the republicans to take a beating. Then in two years start running a true conservative party. The rinos that are left can join the democrats. The democrats would throw them out with the dish water.
I will never vote for another republican. And my whole life I’ve voted republican with one exception. I WILL never vote for a democrat.
It appears the GOP is doing its utmost to alienate conservatives. The “punishment” dished out to House members might have opposite the desired affect. I sure hope it does ... make it more difficult, not more easy, for Boehner and his minions to get their way.
Sounds great, but the Cochrane shenanigans in MS proved that the GOPe wing of the UniParty must be killed first.
So the rebels wen against he establishment and now are threatened with being disciplined! this is America whereby a conservative whom represents their constituents are told toe the line or else you are going to face the consequences of us telling you you are not playing in the sandbox correctly. What about the commitments to oppose Odumbo. that lasted a whole 3 minutes.
Boehner appears to be putting my representative’s views as secondary. I do not like that.
The TPA vote today missed significant principles that need to be included in any such bill, like competitive currency standards, fair trading practices, and including the opinion of the American people. ...
Complicating matters, for the next 19 months, the Obama Administration would be at the helm of any trade negotiations. For the past 6 years, this Administration has acted with near reckless disregard for the rule of law and the Constitution. Unfortunately, this is not limited to economic impacts...
The American people must have faith that Congress will act on their behalf. As written, the fast-track bill does not guarantee that. Ultimately, that is why I could not support this legislation, Pearce added.

You are correct, the GOP has been completely compromised.
....
I believe the GOPe spent over 20 years purging the party of Reaganites, now they run the show from the top down. The GOP is simply returning to the party they were From Hoover to Ford.
