Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will launch his presidential campaign Monday in Miami. Much will happen to change the shape of the race between now and November 2016. But given what we know now, I predict that Bush will become the 45th president of the United States. Here are five reasons why:
1. Bush is seeking to grow the Republican Party.
Rather than trying to expand his support among conservative voters, Bush is trying to make inroads with moderate, swing voters. For example, when I've heard Bush talk about his education reforms in Florida, he doesn't just give conservative talking points about expanding families' freedom to choose the school that's best for them. He explains how successful the reforms have been in making Florida's Hispanic, black and low-income students outscore students in other states.
Bush is a true Big Tent Republican. He generally doesn't attack other Republicans, and when he attacks Democrats, he generally avoids the outraged tone that other GOP candidates employ. This will be an attractive feature to the growing share of voters who are fed up with the politics of perpetual outrage. Conservative voters likely won't like his moderate approach to immigration or his support for Common Core. But Bush isn't flip-flopping on those issues; instead, he is working to convince conservatives of his positions while taking his message to moderate voters.
2. He's already in the lead.
Bush leads the RealClearPolitics polling average (although Scott Walker and Marco Rubio are very close behind). His drive to attract moderate voters will expand his base of support. Few others are competing for the same voters, leaving Bush nowhere to go but up.

More establishment tripe. However, I’m afraid that our more conservative candidates will cancel themselves out so that like Romney in 2012, Bush ends up being the beneficiary.
A good example of what drug use does to the brain.
Might as well just hold a coronation instead of an inauguration...
This is so amusingly unbelievable that my only question is how much the Bush campaign paid this fool to write it.
Of Mexico or Estado Unidos?
I don’t like him, and I’m tired of seeing support for him on Fox News.
Is he going to explain why he killed Terri Schiavo?
I’ll vote for an orange juice can before I vote for another Bush.
6. Hell will freeze over.
7. Monkeys will fly out of Hillary’s butt.
If someone put a gun to my head and told me to vote for Bush or else we’d get Hillary, I’d tell them to pull the trigger.
Its way past time we find something better to do than watch Fox News all the time.
Fox News sucks us in with emotional stories about social and political issues we care about, then they turn around and do puff pieces and or puff interviews with RINO’s like Jeb Bush.
I’m not worried about Jeb Bush. I think he’s toast. The one that worries me more is Marco Rubio. He’s a RINO who can fool people he’s a conservative. He bears more watching than Jeb.
ATTENTION MAINSTREAM MEDIA: No one but you is excited about Jeb Bush. No one! We know you want Jeb Bush to run because (a) he’ll have lots of money to buy advertising due to his many connections and (b) because he will lose.
REPEATING AGAIN FOR THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Nobody but you is interested in Jeb Bush. You’re not fooling anybody. Now go peddle your papers elsewhere. You’re embarrassing yourself. As usual.
BTW, every time Bush speaks in Spanish it reminds me of his amnesty and immigration positions which anger me such that if he is the candidate I very likely will not pull the presidential lever at all.
It'll be Clinton VS Bush IMO.
Then the party hacks will start all over again about how we must support and vote for Bush as he's the better of two evils.
Jeb can only win as a democrat.
Three words why he wont be:
“He’s Jeb Bush”
“Kiss My Ass!”
Okay so, six words....sue me...
