Boeing is preparing to make a big splash with its stretched Dreamliner at the Paris Air Show this year. How do they plan on doing this? The old school way, by putting the 300,000 pound beast through its paces in front of a huge crowd, max performing the carbon fiber jet like it was an F-15, as seen in the video below:
There is an all-out war for orders between Boeings 787 and Airbuss A350. Paris gives Boeing a chance to seal some deals right in Airbuss backyard. Also of interest is the airline that will be emblazoned across the 787-9s fuselage during the display.
Vietnam is increasingly becoming a player on the world stage, with a growing export economy and tightening relations with the U.S. As a result, the nation is now making its tender as an international travel and business destination, one that is not afraid to embrace the latest technology. This, along with being an early 787-9 customer, will bring the Vietnam brand to show center on a world stage.
If you are not checking airline ticket prices to the city of lights, baguettes and rude cabbies at this very moment after seeing this awesome video then you must have other plans. Not to worry, Flight Club will update you on the key aerial happening in the skies over Paris next week as the big show gets underway.
It took off STRAIGHT THE **** UP!
Roll it, babay.
Have you ever been on a 787? Unfortunately, I have not had the chance yet. I’m looking forward to that opportunity.
Tex Johnson give a thumbs up.
Impressive!
I grew up in Kent, WA when they were testing the 747. Over my house. Seeing just how slowly it could go without stalling out. Those big loud engines made the house shake, and the plane seemed to just stand there in the air.
My dad was a UAL pilot, and that was quite impressive.
Of course, a test pilot once rolled a 707 to show off to some buyers. Love to see that again....
I don’t think it was straight up. It was a very steep climb, though.
Thrusty!
If that doesn’t fill you with pride at what American Technology can do nothing will.. Yeah GO Boeing!
That take off was nuts!
P.S. I doubt that the computers would allow the pilot to roll it.
All you Av Air types after enjoying that one check out the Cameron Air show vid I posted yesterday..in case you missed it.its fun
I was hoping for a barrel roll...
Impressive, for an airliner.
However, a WW-II Mustang pilot is laughing in his beer.
Not to mention an Eagle, Falcon, or Raptor pilot.
Not to belittle Boeing...which builds the best airliners, bar none.
Not sure it was that nuts as a lens long lens will allow things to appear greater than they are.Distance angle etc.......Another poster said they would like to see a side shot..either way still a great clip and ride..would have loved to been up front
Yeah. The initial climb was the most impressive thing about the vid. That thing has some serious power.
I dont think it was straight up. It was a very steep climb, though.
...
No, it wasn’t straight up. The camera angle makes it misleading.
Overall, it’s not impressive, especially compared to some other airshow flights of commercial and transport planes.
I do like the 787, though, and the big 777x is going to be impressive as well..
I was at Offutt the day the Air Force took delivery of the first B-1 bomber. They put it through its paces for the crowd, and that thing was amazing. I know they didn’t quite take off straight up, but it was close enough that it sure looked like it from where I was standing.
Charlie can fly.
