Hotel Mogul Kicked Out of Bar Over Ted Cruz Affiliation
New York Post ^ | June 11, 201

The backlash continues to rage in the gay community over OUT NYC Hotel owners Ian Reisner and Mati Weiderpass meeting with GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, who is strongly opposed to same-sex marriage.

Weiderpass was kicked out of Fire Island Pines venue Sip-n-Twirl on Sunday after he was confronted by furious patrons over his affiliation with Cruz.

Customer Evan Lobel said, “One guy got up and asked him what the rationale was to have dinner with Cruz. They got kind of heated and before you knew it, there was a lot of people yelling.” We’re told owner P.J. McAteer asked them to leave the bar and threatened to call police.

If someone else raised his voice, how could they threaten to call the police on Weiderpass?

Homos hating on Cruz. Not shocked. We see a lot of that lately.

We will either fight against the pink swastika or be consumed by it. Period.

Cruz NEVER SAID he was strongly opposed to Gay Marriage.

He said he does not personally agree with it, but he thinks each State has the Right to make it Legal of not.

The Media will never tell the truth, ever.

That never happens with Chocolate cake.

Which is a cop out anyway. The states rights argument on gay marriage is dead, and it's going to be deader in a few weeks. In 2015, saying he thinks each state has a right to decide is basically a way of saying he accepts or approves of gay marriage, but he's trying to let the people he perceives of as, "crazy right wingers," down easily.

or maybe he’s playing it smart by not showing all his cards before the election.
obummer lied about his real feeling on gay marriage before he got elected.
why do republicans always have to bare their soul, consequences be damned?

Stating the federalist/constitutional argument is a cop out? No wonder America is screwed.

I am always impressed when supposed conservatives don’t understand basic conservative principles.

Fact: The Constitution leaves things not in the Constitution to the states.

Fact: Marriage in any form is not in the Constitution.

Fact: it is therefor the domain of the states to do or do not as they see fit.

What part of that is wrong?

I actually used to play the song “Xanadu” with Olivia N-J singing on the jukebox in my favorite bar back in the 80s. But let’s talk about subversive food.

A new restaurant opened up in my neighborhood. It’s run by a mixed race couple. He’s German and she’s Chinese. The menu is a conglomeration of both of their ethnic dishes, often on the same plate.

It’s really tasty - delicious in fact. Everyone says the food is great. But a half hour later you’re hungry for power.

No one in history has ever lied about being less conservative than they claim to be. Democrats or Republicans, they claim to be more conservative than they really are. Show me one betrayal where they went the other way.

I’m actually a fan of ONJ/ELO and Xanadu was a cool album actually. But the movie defined TeH GHEY.

ELO - Time album is a top 10 for me. The best thing they ever did. The Trinity/Prologue, Twilight, Yours truly 2095

I see your point, but isn’t it good to get the federal government out of the decision making process? Maybe they shouldn’t be deciding what marriage is and the states should.
or I could be very wrong. happens like three times a day :)
either way, the media and powers that be have inundated the under 30 crowd and even the over 30 crowd such that 60 percent support this insanity now. what a shame. we have to win them back.

That’s good, but not in tune with my palette for the evening.

Tonight I’m doing Mongol Techno Metal. They can do the “Black Metal Growl” without help from the sound board -

That figure likely reflect polled liberals. But the number is higher than it should be regardless because people have been taught to not think for more than 30 years for a reason.

You are wrong on two levels. First, the politicians who say this "states rights marriage" stuff know full well, that that's a cop out. They know that is not a way to defend marriage. They can say it without ever having any intention of doing anything about it. So the reality is Cruz can say that all day long, but his net effectiveness intention is no different than Obama's. So at the end of the day, Cruz' utility on gay marriage is the same as Obama's. Great. (Not singling him out, not sure any Republican is different on this. Maybe Carson.)

Fact: it is therefor the domain of the states to do or do not as they see fit.

This is a myth the left created to fool conservatives.
Marriage has never been treated as a state issue. The federal government recognizes marriage from any state, as far as taxes, etc. Marriage from ANY state has always been recognized by EVERY other state.

Take bigamy. Can I get married in Georgia, and then in some other state that won't recognize the Georgia marriage? Show me a single case where state by state marriage was effectively used a defense against bigamy charges. I'm waiting.

This is proven again by the fact that once same-sex marriage was recognized in ONE state, it lead to it being recognized in every other state in short order. (Yes, there are still a few states left, but one thinks that will last much longer)

Take Utah. Is same-sex marriage legal in Utah, because people in Utah want same-sex marriage. No, Utah citizens probably want same-sex marriage at the lowest rate of any state. It's legal there, because it's a federal issue. What the citizens of Utah want is irrelevant.

That's why DOMA was enacted. Because marriage is a federal issue, and once same-sex marriage is recognized in one state, it would be forced on the other 49.

Basically, anyone who says marriage is a states' rights issue, might as well say same-sex marriage should be legal everywhere.

The states' right argument on same-sex marriage is less effective than claiming we don't have to pay income taxes, because the Sixteenth Amendment was not properly ratified.
