Walker open to teaming up with Rubio on 2016 ticket

Gov. Scott Walker (Wis.) is open to the idea of teaming up with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) on a GOP presidential ticket, he told Bloomberg on Thursday.

“I do like Marco Rubio, I think he and I have similar thoughts on national defense and foreign policy,” Walker, who is weighing a 2016 run, said in an interview on Bloomberg's With All Due Respect.

Asked by Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin if he would be open to announcing in December that the two of them would run as a ticket, and settle who would be the nominee for president and vice president later, Walker replied that some supporters had pitched that idea.

“I've actually had quite a few people, grassroots supporters, donors, and others, who have made that suggestion,” Walker said.

“For now, you know, Marco is a quality candidate. He's going to be formidable in this race as things progress. And if we were to get in, we'd be as well, and we'll see where things take us.”

He added that he and Rubio have joked that people mention the two possibly pairing up and said they would likely “have to arm wrestle over who would be top of the ticket."

I hear you, but think of Kennedy and Johnson. That was a mistake that changed this country to where it is now. It was perhaps, fatal.

I’m liking very few of them. Its five minutes to midnight. Not a good time for a supposedly conservative Presidential candidate to be backing what is in effect a new EU with America as a casualty. I’m not quite ready to give up my Republic yet. I’m sick of the Republicans serially raping us on these trade agreements.

Did you ever really think you would see Ted Cruz vote to give a Muzzie lovin Commie fast track authority to negotiate a POS global climate change NWO one world government trade deal? Seriously did you? This is the guy who is negotiating the Iran Nuclear surrender deal. This is the guy who helped put together Obamacare. I wouldn’t let Barack Obama pick out the flavor of my popsicle.

Cruz / West would be good.

West brings nothing to the ticket. Plus he lives in Texas.

People need to grow the hell up and face reality. All the major candidates aside from Paul have backed TPP in some form or another and Paul has zero chance. If Trump were a serious candidate he would say whatever he thought it takes but he has about half as much chance as Paul.

Of those running, Cruz and Walker are the only ones worthy of consideration in my book and I have real concerns about all the Romney people surrounding Walker. They have a tendency to create strife among candidates only to destroy them all to make room for the anointed GOPe candidate.

I’ve made the mistake of honestly pointing out the fact that all illegals will never be deported and I was attacked from all quarters (just like liberals who step out of line) but it was still a fact. We can get rid of a lot or even most of them by denying them jobs, and welfare, punishing those who knowingly hire illegals etc. Its a multi faceted process.

Unfortunately FReepers get so fixated on the idea of deportation that they drop border security in the first place. (We can deport them all we want but with an open border they just grant themselves amnesty by coming back) The Cruz detractors get all wound up and screech that he wants to increase H1-B visas but that’s only a half truth. He did say he would increase the visas but only after we got the borders under control and secure + assuring that all Americans who could be hired for those jobs were hired.

Do you have any idea what Rubio did in his “significant leadership position?” He sank every single bill that had anything to do with keeping the US a sovereign nation. He loves illegals all the time, even when he says he doesn’t. He is a liar and not to be trusted.

"Come on folks. Cruz can’t win. Think big picture. Walker, Rubio, Forino. Combine any of the three for P and VP and we have a ticket that can win."

Oh boy there it is. Once again it's the call of the RINO. 'Conservatives can't win we need RINOs in order to win.' HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! How many times have we done it your way and won? How about never!

“I don’t want Rubio one step away from the presidency. And I don’t fully trust Walker.

So that leaves me Cruz, who was my first choice all along,”

Exactly how I feel!

I share your frustrations...but you can’t unfix people who do not understand the dynamics happening now nor care to understand what Walker and Cruz are trying to do....all they see is the candidates running against one another without seeing that ALL those candidates will indeed let an amnesty deal of some sort go thru..it’s a done deal we simply have yet to see.

Same goes for TPP....it’s going to happen because it has to or this nation will be left in the dust...while Europe and the Eurasian Groups march forward with trade.

I hear people say ...they don’t care if they do....I can relate for I thought that way myself...until I took much time to investigate just what is happening that our media does not report on which other nations do.

I agree both Cruz and Walker would do for what we face...but I choose Cruz as President because he has such familiarity with Constitution Law and is a conservative who will get the best deals for this nation best interests.

Walker lacks familarity with operating on the ground among the thick of it daily in WAshington....Cruz knows well the games and the players as well as their co-hurts...and there will not be time for Walker to go through the learning curve he will have in Washington.

Let’s get Cruz into the Presidency..Walker with him and get “Trump” to build the border walls!!!!

I like them both... Rubio has Reagan sunny personality. He has charisma and is likeable. I know people here adore Ted Cruz, but he doesn’t sell as well.

Bush sells better than Rubio...Guess I'll vote for Bush...

Someone say something good about the Cruz TPA deal. Seems like a deal breaker
***************
I will.

Sen. Cruz voted for fast track because (1) he wants it for himself in 2017; (2) Texas benefits greatly from trade with the Pacific Rim; and (3) he’s a disciple of Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek.

However, he sets Obama up. That is, as for the final trade agreement, he votes against it- because in his final reading of the agreement, he finds clauses that impact America’s sovereignty. He leads the fight against it and torpedoes it. He’s a tea party hero again! And he tells disappointed Texans that now that Fast Track is in place, they will be better served if he renegotiates on their behalf in 2017..

How to do I know this? Sorry, it’s a SECRET- you would have to sign non-disclosure agreements. -:)

Also, it would be very smart politics.
