Very weird. We were doing some yard work this evening and hit something, as we dug further we found an old clear plastic bottle with liquid in it. We tried to dig it out and it wouldn't budge, as we went further we realized it was attached to two electrical wires in the ground.. Any idea what this could be?
Sounds like it is Yooper ground clearing unit. Bury a bottle in the ground attach wires to it. The guy finding will dig it up wondering what it is and the ground will be cleared to find where the wires lead to. Walla you have cleared the ground that a Yooper wanted done years ago, but was to damn lazy to do it. (Note the bottle is filled with urine and poop - Do not open it)
LOL....
Toespi, Bless you - I have laughed so hard over these crazy Freepers telling you what to do, but the best is from Cementjungle: Why do I have visions of a SWAT team descending on your home and a bomb squad coming in to blow up the bottle, your car and house. TV news crews all over the place reporting on a terrorist WMD cache.
The swat team will likely be dropping from helicopters so keep your eyes to the sky. Do let us know what the electric company says.
THAT’S what happened to Amelia Earhart’s canteen! Follow the wires far enough and you could be famous!
BFLT
LOL...
LOL on this thread.
Those are “anodes” and usually are magnesium or zinc. They would have one wire attached to a buried tank or pipeline and not be encased in a plastic bottle (insulator).
I would ask a friend for advice.
It could be something unusual.
Hide your dog, quick.
Please let's not bring religion into it.
Maybe, protethtant protection...
rofl. I noticed this and the goodfellas thread got the most posts tonight :) it’s a little break of levity from the TPP arguments and the primaries :)
I just live Freepers, cutting edge comedy. ROFL, we are seriously hysterically laughing over some of the comments especially the swat team, we truly debated whether we should call anyone because of that very reason. We live in an upscale gated condo community and I can just see it in the evening news. The customer service guy at AEP, said, “I have never heard of anything like that, I recommend you do not touch it, we will have someone there as soon as possible.” Well it is now dark in our central Ohio region and so I suppose they will come in the morning. Will, let all know what they find out.
Correct, However the principle is the same, a battery type unit to produce a small electrical charge. In your example, anodes, the bag being berried is the Ground, In the case of a plastic bottle one lead is the ground. The principle is still the same, the tool is different.
Lol!
Beeber like device
Don’t let EPA find out about this. It could cost you millions.
LOL!
