McKINNEY — The McKinney police officer whose actions at a pool party disturbance last Friday went viral in a YouTube video resigned from the force on Tuesday.
"The actions of Eric Casebolt are indefensible," police Chief Greg Conley told reporters at a news conference late Tuesday afternoon, saying the officer was "out of control during the incident."
"I had 12 officers on the scene, and 11 of them performed according to their training," Conley added.
Casebolt's resignation was confirmed about one hour earlier by attorney Jane Bishkin, who told WFAA that the decision was made after a meeting with the department's internal affairs unit to review possible charges her client could face.

Another officer grabbed Casebolt and at least tried to calm him down.
That did not happen.

One more thing.
Tan shorts guy was the one arrest. Those charges have now been dropped.
There was some interaction between the two and Casebolt was the only officer that is seen tackling people.
Finally, no one was arrested.
You are making multiple leaps here.
I have watched the video, it isn’t apparent to me the officer was trying to calm Casebolt down. That is YOUR interpretation.
Can you hear what one cop is saying to the other? No, you can’t. So you don’t know what happened there, but are presenting it as fact.
They damn well should have been arrested. He told her LAWFULLY multiple times to leave the scene and she didn’t, instead sticking around and inflaming the situation.
So, if a cop responds to a mob scene, in your world, is it permissible to ignore the LAWFUL instructions of a police officer to disperse? Because that is sure what it sounds like to me.
Oh I don't know, they could have just dragged her, head flopping, to a van and given her a nickle ride without restraints or paramedics until she threw herself against the inside walls and killed herself.

You are very misinformed. The officer behaved properly and instructed the other officers to pursue the men who threatened him. Later in video same officers bring back one of those men in handcuffs. No one is charged because PC has taken over and the DA will not pursue charges.
Some here do not understand that when an officer asks you to leave he is not asking you for your opinion.

Extremely disturbing trend.
BGI engaging in intimidation, harassment, and a host of actionable (as in legal) activities.
For one, folks speaking out - against- this poolpartycrashing are exercising their first amendment rights, and anyone trying to suppress and intimidate them are infringing on those rights.
The primary issue was the girl who was tackled.
Why was she tackled?
If she was doing something illegal, she would have been arrested.
Apparently, none of the 12 officers on the scene thought she should have been arrested.
The Chief and the city made to call to terminate the officer. Most likely from the accounts of the other 11 officers and the video.
An attempt was made years ago to put a public housing development in Far North Dallas. (This is the much nicer, wealthier section of Dallas.) This social engineering stunt by Judge Barefoot Sanders was repeatedly struck down in ruling after ruling. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals finally b*tch slapped him over his constant rulings to keep this failed project afloat. Development never happened.
Back to the topic at hand, respect is a two-way street. To receive respect, one must first show respect. Regardless of what someone thinks about police officers in general, when one tells you to do something...DO IT! How freaking hard is that to understand? Do not give ANY police officer a reason, valid or not, to rough you up. Follow instructions given, don’t mouth off (especially do not use foul language), and behave like a civilized member of society. Is that really such a difficult task? For some, I suppose it is.
In most cases, when a police officer tackles a suspect, the person being tackled in arrested.
Without an arrest, it is difficult to explain why an officer would tackle a person who was not breaking a law.
Can’t think of a better group of lowlife scum to have a disagreement with.
