An angry man roughed up a customer at a Little Caesars Pizza restaurant in Salinas for making a crack about his moms weight, police said.
The ruckus started Sunday when a 50-year-old man told a woman she should not eat pizza because she was already overweight, police said.
The comment sent the woman into a rage. She went to her car to get a crow bar, but before she could get in any blows, her son punched the man several times in the head.

The appropriate response for fat comment is not crowbar.
Refrain from committing aggravated assault.
I can.
Assault with a deadly weapon ... it's far ruder than 'unsolicited advice'.
I probably wouldn’t punch someone that insulted my mother but I would certainly be in their face.
BTW, my mother isn’t fat. It’s just I’ve known a few smart asses that run their mouth all the time. When it comes back to bite them, I know it’s well deserved.
Reminds me of the woman with her baby on an airplane. A drunk sitting next to her says, “Lady, that’s the ugliest baby I’ve ever seen!” At that, she goes into a fit of hysterics, screaming and swearing and throwing punches at the drunk. So the stewardess comes rushing up and says, “Ma’am, ma’am calm down, and I’ll get you a drink ... and a banana for your monkey!”
I was just in Salinas while on vacation. Didn’t encounter any boots there.
But if your mother really IS fat, and shouldn’t be eating pizza, is that really an insult? I mean, truth is the defense against slander, shouldn’t that same standard apply here?
Boors.
Bump
You need to roll her in flour to find a wet spot.
I'm sorry.

Well still, people brag on where their emotions would take them, like it was some divine power to be bowed down before.
The bible has a lot to say about this. Demonic inspiration feels strong, can even wreak destructive chaos, but when its long term effects are viewed it is weak. It can bust but can never build.
Jus' sayin' ...
Yo momma's so fat she sued xbox 360 for guessing her weight.
Somehow we have to drag all public discourse down to the kind of calumny found in many courtrooms?

I do not recommend chancing it.
Of course, my mom wasn’t plus-sized and my thin but well-curved wife, who does 2+ hours of exercise every day, hasn’t gained a pound since we got married 20+ years ago.
But the principle is there: insult someone’s mom/wife at your own risk. Any real man will defend her honor.
Which will get a lot of people grieving all over.
...you had better be prepared for repercussions of a worst case scenario type

I grew up in an area with people like that. Lots of them had runs ins with the law and found themselves being confined in places where their violent instincts are constrained, and far away from their families.
I remember seeing Judge Judy tell a woman that when you go looking for trouble don’t be surprised if you find it.
It seems that a guy had broken up with the woman and she wouldn’t accept it so she and a friend decided to harass him by following him around on his UPS route.
At one stop, the ex girlfriend threatened the guy with a knife. The guy took one of the old school credit card readers and applied it to the woman’s face Louisville slugger style. Broke her nose, cheekbone, jaw and knocked out some teeth.
He was charged with assault with intent but acquitted. The ex was suing for some of the medical bills. Judge Judy told her that “You thought I would give you a break because I’m a female but you couldn’t be more wrong. You went looking for trouble and you found it.”
>>That attitude will get you a bullet between your eyeballs.<<
Or someone else’s.
You have to ask the question if a snide insult is worth your life (not you specifically of course, just conceptually).
