Someone would actually eat them? I might sell it, but I wouldn’t eat it! LOL.

I’m not sure who in their right mind would eat these fish...but then again, when I was a child in NYC and the Hudson was so polluted it stank and you literally saw sewage floating by, there were always people down there on the waterfront fishing.

The only thing they ever caught was eels, because that was all that could live there, but their buckets were full of writhing eels when they left and I assume they ate them. It was a nasty thought, even then, and we kids would look into the buckets mostly to scare ourselves.

“Officials urged people to not trap, catch or eat any fish caught on the streets”

That’s a fine piece of writing.

Something tells me that the residents of the Murder Capital of The Northeast, do not eat fish.

Are these dead fish laying in the street? Who in their right mind has to warn people not to eat a dead fish.
If they are alive and swimming in a pool somewhere, what difference dies it make if you catch them in that pool by hand or go fishing in the dirty, sewage filled lake.

In Colorado, in some of the steep, narrow river canyons that come out of the mountains, there are signs posted that say “In Case of Flash Flood, Climb to Safety”.

As far as I know, countless lives have been saved by these signs.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, flood the streets and he won’t need FEMA.

The real reason is that these fish are on the menu for Michelle O’s school lunch program.

These fish are made for eating,
And that’s just that they’ll do:
One of these days, these fish
Are gonna eat up all of you...

Don't eat the fish on the streets, Newark residents warned

Authorities also cautioned Newark residents to avoid placing their heads directly under any anvils randomly falling from the sky.

Well it is NJ and Newark at that; such warnings are necessary for that entire population, in addition they should have warned don’t eat those floating around who swim the fishes.

And if they knew what crabs or pigs ate, they would never eat crab or pork again,

Touring a slaughter house can make one consider becoming a vegetarian.

Some recent immigrants likely consider free fish in the streets part of the American dream.

My first thought was the title referred to street vendors.

“Fresh Fish!”
