I am more amphibious, myself, being a dedicated swimmer. Many a beautiful bright orange salamander I have briefly captured, admired, and then let go in my ol' crik-stompin' days.
Seems a lot of motor mouths have suddenly developed lockjaw on this topic.
Makes you wonder why they were here, in the first place.

Women didn't invent or build airplanes. Women didn't invent or build firearms. Women didn't invent or build steam locomotives. Women didn't invent or build motorcycles. Yes, there are some women who are wired like men in that department, I know a few and like/admire them very much; they are as good at building, engineering, and inventing as the guys. But they are few and far between.
I run with women who respect men, love men for being men, and accept the intrinsic differences between men and women.
I learned young: Men are the SOLE defenders of women. We women have the freedoms we do in the West solely because men allow us to have them. Where men don't defend women, women are chattel and slaves. Look at Islam.

Which is a wonderful compliment to me, thank you, as I'm pretty sure amphibians are cold-blooded like reptiles are!
I am one of those nuts who, while gardening (or pretending to, which is a more apt description!), will go to great lengths to avoid injuring the cute little black newts that tend to hide under old leaves. I felt so bad because I accidentally killed several one time, and grieved! {^)
My dad apparently wanted a boy but had me.
I got all the guns/hunting/riding/baling hay stuff.
My sister was raised as a Barbie Doll.
She is helpless without men.

I know just the ones you speak of.
Sometimes dad would accidentally sever their tails when digging post holes and I would take them in and “fix them”, not knowing that their tails would have grown back without my help, anyway.

Sure, you're not helpless without men -- because you have at your disposal things that men invented so you could be independent. :^) Things like automobiles, guns, and good ol' weasel pee (WD-40)!
Me, I love men and am perplexed by most women, but I am prejudiced. I believe in my heart that men are the stronger sex in one way, and most emphatically the weaker sex in another way.
Men are physical strong but emotionally a zillion times more vulnerable than women, at least in long observation. For example, the vast majority of way wacko sicko sex offenders were sexually abused as children, often by their mothers or women. It screws those men up so badly that they do horrific things -- emotionally, they cannot handle it.
By comparison, the vast majority of women who were sexually abused as children, often by their fathers or men, grow up scarred but are usually able to collect themselves and live reasonably normal lives.
Another example. A guy whose heart gets mangled and betrayed in one romance is usually pretty well wrecked for a long time. A woman whose heart gets broken in romance usually bounces back within a few years, tops. Not saying that one is good or the other bad -- just that we are wired differently as per God's wisdom.
What gentlemen give us women -- independence, the ability to function in a material world without their immediate presence or protection (that's where guns come in) we can return by giving them what they cannot provide themselves, which is tender embrace and respect for their particular kind of fragility. Just my take!

Over the years, My FRiend, I have learned that everything the Government does is planned. Nothing happens by accident or happenstance.
I admit I am more like your sister and learned a lot from a roommate who was like you. She taught me how to do things that my brothers always did for me! She is the one who helped me find more independence in that regard -- I admire your attitude and confidence. I would sure want to have you on my posse if push came to shove. Like I say, you sound like my kinda gal. Your daddy must be proud and a wonderful man.
I think we would get along great.

My sister had to call someone to come fish a *toad* out of her swimming pool.
I grew up running around with handfuls of rat snakes, much to my dad’s horror.
Dad was both proud and baffled.
I became everything he thought I should be but with my own unique twist.
*He* was terrified of snakes and I loved them.
He never carried home “pet groundhogs” [and other unwilling mammals] but I did, all the time.
He called me “Ellie May”.
