To: Salamander
Your affection for salamanders warms my heart.

Which is a wonderful compliment to me, thank you, as I'm pretty sure amphibians are cold-blooded like reptiles are!

I am one of those nuts who, while gardening (or pretending to, which is a more apt description!), will go to great lengths to avoid injuring the cute little black newts that tend to hide under old leaves. I felt so bad because I accidentally killed several one time, and grieved! {^)

I know just the ones you speak of.

Sometimes dad would accidentally sever their tails when digging post holes and I would take them in and “fix them”, not knowing that their tails would have grown back without my help, anyway.

My wife can handle anything with legs. Snakes are evil incarnate. When I point out that snakes eat rats and mice, her response id “doesn’t matter. They don’t have legs.”
