One of their buddies gave something like 10 million to our local (Socialist) University this past year. Half their fortune.
I’m pretty sure these ‘gifts’ are not going to, say, ‘The Young Republicans on Campus,’ or the like. ;)

How much of their wealth came from the exploitation of third world workers? I’d much rather people had the opportunities to get that billions of excess wealth by working for it.

I don’t think Bill Gates has had any good ideas since he turned 40.

They announce them like they give the whole 10 Mil at once but they structure the actual giving to give them the most tax benefits. Not that I blame them.

Funny, I had been under the impression that wealthy folks gave away much of their hard-earned dollars every April 15th.

I really wish they would donate it to the debt of the United States of America. We could have that debt paid in 10 years. Yes I know it would be up again in 25 years but we would be better off in the short term at least.

Thank you. It is 100 percent true in my opinion. It is so stunning to me that we have so many that don’t see it that way. The super majority of FREEPERS are intelligent and reasonable except with regards to Governor Walker. I still shake my head thinking about it.

It’s income tax, not wealth tax. It’s why the truly rich doesn’t give a damn about income tax rates.
