WASHINGTON — Just as Sen. Bernie Sanders’ progressive presidential challenge to Hillary Clinton is gaining steam, an old essay of his has surfaced in which he says women fantasize “being raped by 3 men simultaneously.”
“A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused,” Sanders, 73, wrote in 1972 for an alternative newspaper called the Vermont Freeman.
“A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.”
In another part of the article he wrote:
“Do you know why the newspapers with articles like ‘Girl, 12, raped by 14 men’ sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?”
Sanders was 30 at the time and was running for both the US Senate and governor of Vermont on the leftist Liberty Union Party line.

this idiot seems to think in his writing that since men no longer have to go out and kill animals and build shelters for the woman that there should be no difference between the two. I wont begin to explain how he is wrong on so many counts.
I must have seen at least half a dozen articles on this subject.
Not one of them even attempts to determine whether what he is saying is true or not.
Before climbing all over somebody for saying something, we just might want to try to find out if it is factually correct.
There are three possibilities: all women fantasize about being raped, no women fantasize about being raped, some women fantasize about being raped while others do not.
Seems to me 1 and 2 are obviously untrue. Which means the discussion would be about how many women need to have this fantasy for it to be a true statement to say that, "women fantasize about rape."
I have no particular opinion on that subject and also hasten to add that indulging in a sexual fantasy does not necessarily mean someone to act it out.
It is reasonable, I think, to point out that "romance novels," the female version of pornography, are dominated by rape or semi-rape scenarios.
The logic of the liberal mind is a very dangerous one.
I my mind, having public discussion about this Bernie Sanders article is far more important than dredging up some old harrassment charges against a retired speaker of the GOP Congress. I had actually thought Hasstert had passed on. The ex-speaker belongs to a bygone era, and there are more pressing issues to define and explore, such as ‘why isn’t Hilary in jail? The Dems are getting desperate to keep us distracted from what matters. What next- Bob Dole scandals about miscounted votes to become Homecoming King in 1949?

I agree there’s a ridiculous double standard here, but isn’t it at all relevant whether the essay is true or not?
Sounds remarkably like people are climbing on him because he said something the may be true, but is taboo to say out loud.
