As Rine points out “the redefinition of marriage began decades ago” when “the link between sexuality and procreation was severed in our cultural imagination.”

That's the problem right there.

Bingo. It’s all about procreation.

Why? Because they don’t read the Scriptures and their leaders don’t either.

The US Supreme Court could do a lot about changing this perception were they to rule against gay marriage in the context of marriage between a man and woman for the fundamental purpose of procreation. But unfortunately they won’t.

That’s always been a weak argument to me, the best explanation I was ever given was in Catholic School.

It was the fact we were made in God’s Image and God Created (Designed) us.

Women was specifically designed for Man (Adam) and this is the natural design.

Man and Woman were meant for each other, designed for each other. Anything outside of this was an insult to God’s design for us (sometimes referred to the natural order)

Sinning against the natural order is a hate crime against God in other words.

They have convinced most people that anti-gay is the same kind of prejudice as when previous generations were anti-black. They control the media, education, an pop culture, and that’s how they are winning this debate.

Well, I guess they are going to have to learn the hard way.

That's why muzzies and commies and atheists will never succeed in bringing about their version of Utopia.

All it takes is one single person to survive the purge to explain to people why the world that was once so "tolerable" has turned to utter crap.

The main argument to me is “what purpose does marriage serve”?

Tax breaks? Sexual exclusivity enforced by the state? Goading your friends for wedding gifts?

Same sex marriage is nonsensical for any other reason.

More young people are against abortion than the population at large. Sadly, the young are also pro gay marriage in greater numbers.

In 1968, Pope Paul VI predicted—because he grasped the PRINCIPLE involved—that acceptance of contraception would lead to acceptance of fornication, adultery, sodomy, and abortion, and would eventually destroy marriage entirely.

Contraception is a SPECIES of sodomy. I.e., sodomy is not just “anal sex.” Sodomy is any sex act that is intrinsically sterile, or HAS BEEN MADE sterile.

Since virtually all Christians accept contraception, they have NO PRINCIPLE to appeal to in order to oppose any other form of sodomy.

When you take out “Because God says so” all Christian arguments fall apart.

That broken link predates the church. If a man went to a prostitute for sex, neither party was doing it to make a baby.

"But today, things are different. “Students now,” she says, “arrive in my class thoroughly versed in the language and categories of identity politics; they are reticent to disagree with anything for fear of seeming intolerant—except, of course, what they perceive to be intolerant.””

No ... THAT'S the problem right there

The police all over America know EXACTLY what that means, and it has nothing to do with Christianity, but EVERYthing to do with being terrorized

I've used those words countless times before here in FR ... America is terrorized

There is no war on terror

There is a war WITH TERROR ... on the American people.

I'm incorporating these words and concept into my berating of the local school board I'm a member

YOU PEOPLE are to blame.

YOU'RE the ones conditioning our kids to be unquestioning drones, and you use fear to accomplish your socialist aims.

Yes, and that is why we will probably not be able to fight back against “gay marriage” effectively, because heterosexuals refuse to look in the mirror and pull back from our own abandonment and evisceration of marriage. Even most conservatives don’t want to hear about it, probably because they want to “have their cake and eat it too”. They want marriage to be “between one man and one woman”, but they still like the fact that it has been redefined into a temporary, dispensable arrangement with no real difference from “dating” besides the government benefits.

I know from the Protestant side, the problem starts in the Church and ends in the Church.

Either preach the unvarnished truth, without respect to the feelings of the parishioners, without concern for your salary, with a focus ONLY on pleasing God and Christ your Savior, or don’t preach.

If we, as pastors, would stick to that approach, we would see a revival that rivals those that happened during the early part of our nation’s history.

If we don’t, this country is lost, forever.

No-fault divorce and serial marriage have soured young people. Hypocrisy has a way of doing that.

Put all of the blame where it belongs: adults who say anything to justify abhorrent behaviour.

Why? Because His people have forsaken His Torah/Word; His written instruction (aka, but not as accurate, law). He is coming to establish His Kingdom. Kingdoms have: kinds, customs and yup laws. Granted transformed saints will not have flesh baying at the leash to sin anymore. We will be abiding by the rules without that.

The article itself is an example of the problem. Not a single scripture was used. When man thinks he can say it better than God, problems result.

Jesus said, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me."

One of those commandments is found in 1 Thess 1:4-8:

Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who£ has also given us His Holy Spirit.
