Contraception is a SPECIES of sodomy. I.e., sodomy is not just “anal sex.” Sodomy is any sex act that is intrinsically sterile, or HAS BEEN MADE sterile.
Since virtually all Christians accept contraception, they have NO PRINCIPLE to appeal to in order to oppose any other form of sodomy.
I agree completely. For those of us who are fighting this battle I find the gnostic argument to be somewhat interesting. Contraception is a physical act that removes the unitive and procreative properties of marital relations. As some of said it is a rejection of humanity as expressed in the masculine and feminine genders.
Like contraception, the narrative from the sodomites has divorced the physical aspects of irregular sexual relations and imposed on the rest of us the notion of, "love is love". Which by its very nature denies the body. It's inherently anti-human.
I haven't fleshed this out all the way and have doubts about how compelling it is. Most likely it would not find a receptive audience to our adversaries but I do find it intriguing. Perhaps I should get around to reading St. Pope John Paul II's teachings on the theology of the body.
Bingo! I am not Catholic but have been saying for decades that contraception does not align with the scriptures as I read them. It is a compromise with sin, (or outright sin,) in my opinion. The most frequent argument I hear from Christians supporting it has something to do with "stewardship" or being able to "afford" our family. To those I ask what God do you serve? My God is able to supply ALL of my needs according to His riches in glory. If I don't have it, I probably don't need it... at least not yet.
Unfortunately, I wasted the years of my youth believing the lies of the world instead of trusting God. It hurts me to my soul to see these younger generations being lied to by their churches and subsequently wasting their lives in vain pursuits instead of the fruitful lives God desires us to live. That kind of teaching also leads ultimately to them being deceived by doctrines of demons as we are seeing these days.

That is all well and good...but does the above include a man and woman employing the so called ‘rhythm method’ so as to minimize the chance of conception...?
