Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) cast global warming and America's dependence on foreign oil as national security issues in a speech on energy policy yesterday, the last of three addresses designed to outline the foundation of his soon-to-be announced presidential campaign.
"National security depends on energy security," said McCain in the speech, which was part of the Center for Strategic and International Studies' "Decision 2008" program. "The problem isn't a Hollywood invention, nor is doing something about it a vanity of Cassandra-like hysterics."

I do not think that many politicians really know the difference between climate and weather. The words are NOT interchangeable!
Climate is the average weather in a place over many years. While the weather can change in just a few hours, climate takes hundreds, thousands, even millions of years to change.
Yes, the Earth has been experiencing climate change for billions of years. No, mankind has nothing to do with climate change; the Sun has everything to do with climate change, no matter what lawyers, politicians, and alchemists are being paid to tell you!
This is how we ended up with the war on poverty and the war on drugs. They were sold as security issues. Everybody know you can do things in a “war” that you can’t get away with in non-war times. The word war should be reserved for a shooting conflict between nations.
