Ignoring the polls and pundits, former New York Gov. George Pataki plans to announce Thursday that hes joining the crowded Republican field for president.
The three-term governor will unveil his candidacy in Exeter, N.H., which claims the birthplace of the Republican Party and join a group of contenders who are inching toward the 20 mark.
Skeptics abound about Patakis chances.

Could we have 40 podiums for the first debate? That would be something.
Paulsen knew what was going on...
Excellent. He’ll definitely steal support from Bush.
Who is ? Pataki ? Thinks he’s too good for a Senate race but entitled to the Presidency. Prima donna phony.
Who paid him to do this? He HAS to know he has no chance of being elected. So many RINO jerks.
The GOP had a gay candidate in ‘12.. Fred Karger.
I get that angle, sure. But it seems there would be better ways to go about jockeying for a cabinet position than jumping in to an already crowded primary, with really no chance of winning. And I say that as a New Yorker - why waste his time?
I like your way of thinking, split the rinos so Cruz can take the nomination.
But why? Why does the Republican Party want the field glutted with candidates?
Someone help me understand what's going on.
Why waste the money?
He will get some rubes to give him some money, get mentioned in the press more than since he was governor, then throw whatever support he can claim behind whoever he thinks is getting the nomination.
What else has he got to do with his time?
It is the perfect time for a gay candidate, a Muslim candidate and a
Chinese candidate to join the traveling 2016 GOP Freak Show.
After all, it’s not really a “Big Tent” without a couple more freaks joining in.
A gay, a Muslim, and a communist walked into a bar, and the bartender said, “What can I get you, Mr. President?”
LOL
LOL. It worked for Obama. It should work for the Big Tent GOP.
It may end up that there are more on the stage than in the audience.
The GOP should charge an admission fee.
The greatest freak show since Barnum and Bailey.
Scum. Pure RINO scum.
Michael Medved interviewed this guy on his radio program back in January, I believe, and he seems like a pretty decent guy. He is no doubt further left that most FReepers, but seems like an extremely honest guy. He is a personal friend of Medved.
“More RINO’s splitting the votes, the better!”

Hmmm.....I hadn’t thought of that angle!
