Waco police took issue with online conspiracy theories regarding Sunday's shooting at a Twin Peaks restaurant, with a spokesman saying Thursday the department "can't wait" to show the public "what truly happened."
Police have said after a disturbance in the parking lot Sunday, a fight began in the restaurant's bathroom that quickly escalated into an armed brawl and shootout that left nine motorcycle gang members dead and another 18 injured.
According to Waco police, the deadly altercation began after one gang of bikers showed up uninvited to a planned meeting of other motorcycle groups at the restaurant.
"You will eventually see what happened at Twin Peaks," said Waco police spokesman Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton in a news conference Thursday at 5:30 p.m. "I've seen it... It was horrible."
Sgt. Swanton said video of the fight and fatal shooting won't be available to the media or public until the McLennan County District Attorney's Office decides to release it, and that that time may not come until the investigation is much further along.
Swanton said there is currently no time frame on when the investigation may be complete, explaining that the nine men killed Sunday were more homicides than his department investigated in all of 2014. He also cited the complicated nature of the crime scene, which stretches from the interior of the restaurant to well into the parking lot.
More than 300 weapons have been recovered from Twin Peaks and the parking lot. Many were hidden throughout the restaurant, though police have not specified whether the weapons were placed there before the shooting or hidden by suspects as police responded to the chaotic scene.
Swanton specifically addressed those who have claimed online that police instigated the violence Sunday.
"Those who were involved know law enforcement did absolutely nothing to start this," Swanton said. He later said "a criminal element at Twin Peaks" started it.
Earlier this week, officials said there were 18 local police officers as well as four DPS troopers in place at the restaurant prior to a motorcycle group's event on Sunday because they were aware of the potential for violence.
It is reported that only two of the nine dead bikers had criminal records - one for a DUI and the other for carrying in a bar. Now, if that is a random sampling of the criminal gang, it seems to me that Waco John Law has been pretty lax and ineffective in catching the criminals.
What concerns me is the casual manner that the police took the lives of 9 individuals and the mass arrests and detentions. this is reminiscent of the roundups of Jews and Hitler’s political enemies in Europe in the 30s and early 40s.

Really?
I cannot recall from any of my reading a story that the Jews rounded up in Nazi Germany were involved in a gang brawl at a breastaurant. I know things got dicey in the Warsaw ghetto, but nothing quite like this.
Are you assuming facts not in evidence - perhaps you’re more up on it - but has it been confirmed that all of the dead were shot and killed by the police?
Until they release the video, whites will continue to burn down the Quik Trips and CVS’s.
Wait, what?
What is the conspiracy theory here? What are the cops being accused of?
Hard to post something that doesn’t exist. Hard to get a straight story from third hand blogs stating conjecture as fact.
You got your opinion
I got Mine
No need for the video to be kept secret if there was no wrongdoings by LEO’s.
This whole deal smells like dead fish and it’s getting worse.
“So, according to your opinion, anyone who is willing to wait for the video and the rest of the evidence to be presented before making a judgment is a Fascist. An interesting definition of Fascist.”
Nope, yours is the extremely interesting definition, especially if you’ve read my previous posts on the subject, which I suspect you have.
BINGO!!!
“This whole deal smells like dead fish and its getting worse.”
And the FR fascist kapos have gotten uglier today.
Well of course, decent law-abiding people frequently join criminal organizations. We all know that. And decent law-abiding people frequently make comparisons between Jews and poor, misunderstood criminal gang members. No surprise there.
These two comments are interesting, I wonder how law enforcement would explain them away.

I am anxious to know the truth. A family member was the first to be shot and killed in that mess. He didnt own a gun, had no history of violence, and he was a great dad to two great kids. Our hearts are broken from the loss of him.

Thank you all for your kind words. Jake was the one in a pale yellow sleeveless tshirt, lying on the bed of a truck, being given CPR by his friends, in some media pictures. He had been sitting, after lunch, talking with his friends, when he heard a scuffle start. He walked about 40ft, just around a corner, to see what the skirmish was about, and thats when he was shot in the neck and killed. He had no gun. He had never owned a gun. He hated guns. He had no criminal record. Hed had the same job for almost 20 years. And he hated drugs (but he did love beer). Its killing me to see all these guys painted as violent criminals and losers. That just isnt the case.

- A bunch of bikers (100-200) had a meeting a twin peaks in Waco.
- A fight started between different groups of them
- Some bikers involved in the fight were injured by knifes, brass knuckles, clubs, ect
- The Police (between 10-20 officers) who had reason to believe something might happen were waiting outside.
- The original fight spilled outside
- Once outside, shots were fired, 9 bikers were left dead (several of their bodies lying next to their bikes which they appeared to be trying to get away on) All of the dead (according to police) died from gun shot wounds. Some with shots to the head.
- Police have admitted they fired on the bikers (after supposedly being fired at themselves)
** what do don't know is how many of the 9 bikers that died (all of which according to police died of gun shot wounds) were killed by police, and how many were killed by other bikers. **
—— My personal belief at this point is that most if not all of the bikers were killed by police. Maybe justly, maybe not, but that's what trials are for. But I think it's becoming likely that police fired first upon seeing a weapon in a bikers hand, and that if they bikers did fire at police it was after 1st being fired upon themselves. Police opened fire and within seconds 9 bikers lay dead.
Remember the police were waiting for them outside with rifles behind the cover of their vehicles. Those bikers never stood a chance.
Has anybody here listened to the police radio traffic recording? That has been put on the web.
So I voice My opinion and get this?
You know NOTHING about Me.
Go back to your marbles game please.
I should have found a different post to reply for mentioning the criminal records. You were challenging the equating of Jews and criminals. I was not responsive to that.
Sorry for that.
I am hearing that the rules of engagement were “active shooter”. Does anyone know what agency is responsible for setting that? Who owns this stinking mess?
Reasonable people ARE asking why the police were able to finish it, yet not prevent it, or make an effort to prevent it, by posturing themselves in a most open and (for lack of a better term) intimidating position, where all biker participants could see the SWAT team members with full battle regalia, to include weapons, MRAPS, squad cars, helicopters, etc..
Otherwise, reasonable people might contemplate whether law enforcement intended to react with overwhelming fire power from an advantageous position on the order of an ambush, coinciding with the instant- reasonable cause was detected, thus giving them the legal footing (needed) to use lethal force.
In other words, premeditation was instituted, rather than prevention.
Ready for it?
An ounce of prevention (posturing) is worth a pound of (5.56mm/head shots) cure.
I’m just looking for the link to a video a few posters have claimed exists, but I haven’t seen. If people are going to claim the video exists, it is easy enough to post a direct link to the video more often than not.
