Josh Duggar, one of the members of the family that stars in TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" ... was the subject of a police investigation for allegedly sexually molesting 5 girls, some of whom are his sisters.
The story was broken by In Touch Weekly, but TMZ has confirmed with law enforcement that Josh Duggar -- who was around 14 at the time -- was the alleged molester against 5 girls starting in 2002.
According to the police report, Josh fondled the genitals and breasts of the girls, some of whom were sleeping, but sometimes they were interacting with him ... in one case reading a book.
There was another reported incident 9 months later.
According to the police report, the police were not immediately contacted. Instead, Jim Bob, the dad, met with church elders and agreed Josh should be put in a treatment program. The police report says Josh's mom, Michelle, said it wasn't really a treatment center ... they simply sent Josh to a guy who was remodeling a building to do manual labor.
In 2006, the family was scheduled to appear on "Oprah," and before the show someone sent an email to Harpo warning that Josh had molested girls. Harpo forwarded the email to a hotline, which triggered a police investigation.
Cops wanted to question Josh, but Jim Bob lawyered him up and Josh declined the invitation.
Josh, who is now 27, apparently cannot be charged because the statute of limitations has run.
As for the Duggars, one of the family members told investigators, "this entire incident had brought the family closer to God" ... this according to the police report.

A lot goes on with a boy at 14. (not saying its right)
A lot of growing up and changing happens, between 14 and 27, especially after one is married and has kids of their own.
I'm sure you're far from perfect. I'm sure you did something in your past, that you'd be embarrassed to ever be found out and exposed.
By your standard, that would make you a disgusting person and warped. (present tense)
12 years ago.
Maybe, by your standards, prostitutes should never be allowed salvation.
Maybe Jesus should have just stoned Mary Magdalene.
Thank goodness Jesus forgives ALL our sins and changes hearts and lives.
Typed like a true moral relativist.
Typed like a real @$$#ole
Thank goodness the liberal godless lesbian Oprah Winfrey brought this to the world’s attention. Heck, that 14 year old boy might have lived a normal life after confessing his son and getting right with God and becoming an upstanding citizen... /s
Few 14 year old boys in America have not touched a girls genitals unintentionally or intentionally.
America’s lead lesbian, Oprah Winfrey, was the one to make a big deal of this.
Too many double negatives. Me not sure if me not misunderstand.
well I think that’s what this is about. Taking something from the past and trying to set a bad light on pro family values. What he did was wrong. & I don’t have access to thet transcripts or the ages of the girls or any of that. But it seems some delight in printing these articles and posting them. would that they have had the same delight in posting all the Clintons rapes
Few 14 year old boys in America have not touched a girls genitals unintentionally or intentionally.
Only one negative in her statement. No DOUBLE negatives.
but was thinking of the Old Testament story of when King David’s son raped his sister Tamar, and David just pretended it didn’t happen - never could figure that one out.
If you read what resulted from the incidence you’ll see it was a warning.
Duggar crossed a very, very serious line from "embarrassing" to "sick."
Phonics is a good place to start
You’ve never heard of the Duggars? How was life under the rock?
Many years ago at age 15 I was a summer camp counselor of younger children at a local country club.
The 4-8 year old girls would come over to me and sit on my lap, like a pet while waiting for lunch etc. What did I know? No one ever counseled me on how that looked and that I should refuse. I was the nearest male role model. Yes occasionaly they would slide and yes occasionaly I had to “touch” to prevent their fall. I learned quickly where to grab, but I had to learn.
What does this make me?
Few= not many
Not = Not
UNintentional = Not intentional
I thought juvenile charges were sealed...who wanted to leak this and broke the law by doing that? He isn’t 14 anymore....he is 27. Maybe, just maybe, he is a changed person. This was brought out to attack them for their Christian views on life.
I hate incest and believe it is evil. But I can see this for what this is.
“Few 14 year old boys in America have not touched a girls genitals unintentionally or intentionally.”
How many 14 year old boys have sexually assaulted their siblings?
Heard of a lot but not the Duggars.
It was wrong and he was old enough to know it. Even more horrible because it was his sisters, that really increases the ick factor.
I think that their approach to male/female relationships may have contributed to this. There is a ditch on both sides of the road and in their zeal to protect their kids’ purity, they didn’t help them navigate feelings well.
When I was that age I had been grabbed and groped by boys in my class and, sadly, it was considered normal. They had a “best buns contest” and we were grabbed in the hallways at school. Other reasons for other body parts. It wasn’t right but it happened and we all learned how to protect ourselves and the boys outgrew it, sort of. No one is calling them molesters now.
Neither situation was right and my teen boys were disgusted with the Josh Duggar story, and went into “told you so” mode as they mocked and ridiculed that show every time my daughters watched it.
It’s normal for boys to be interested in girls and when you make thinking about girls “dirty” then their minds can get messed up. I think that maybe happened in their family. I also think Josh may have a narcissistic personality, bordering on a disorder. It comes out in the way he talks and especially how he talked about this. He really needs counseling for the sake of his wife and kids.
