One of nine bikers killed at a shootout outside a Texas restaurant was a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient whose family members dispute police claims he was in a criminal group.
An Associated Press review of Texas court records and a database maintained by the state department of public safety turned up no criminal history in Texas for Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, 65, of New Braunfels. And his son Vincent Ramirez told the San Antonio Express-News that he was not violent.

Waco DA allowed to hire 2 more prosecutors
So it’s no surprise that McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna gained the court’s permission to hire two new felony prosecutors during the court’s budget work session Monday by agreeing to a little give-and-take on other budget requests.
On the table for discussion were the two new positions, which would max out at $72,000 a year plus fringe benefits; $100,000 to install a new software program for the district attorney’s office; and funds for new laptops prosecutors could take to court.
The deal negotiated with the court allows Reyna to hire the two prosecutors at different points in the 2012 fiscal year in exchange for Reyna agreeing to pay about $73,000 in software upgrades and new laptop purchases from a separate asset forfeiture fund he controls.

Thank you all for your kind words. Jake was the one in a pale yellow sleeveless tshirt, lying on the bed of a truck, being given CPR by his friends, in some media pictures. He had been sitting, after lunch, talking with his friends, when he heard a scuffle start. He walked about 40ft, just around a corner, to see what the skirmish was about, and that’s when he was shot in the neck and killed. He had no gun. He had never owned a gun. He hated guns. He had no criminal record. He’d had the same job for almost 20 years. And he hated drugs (but he did love beer). It’s killing me to see all these guys painted as violent criminals and losers. That just isn’t the case.

At some point, that video has to be released to the public. Who knows when.
For now, there seem to be many unanswered questions in this case.

Every sentient being who’s digesting what’s going on here hopes that what happened was truly justified.That said, anyone with a high double digit IQ is begining to realize that something is terribly wrong with the cops actions. And the longer it takes them to release the details, the more reason there is to doubt the honesty of what the LEO’s “claim’ happened.

BTW, they already know how many cops shot and dropped people. It was in broad day light. Unless those who shot them are lying to their supervisors about it.
This isn't the country I grew up in, that's for sure, and it's not the country I spent nearly 15 years of my life serving. I will keep the faith, as you know, there are a few of us still around.
Yep. I am not a fan of LEO assuming the function of judge, jury and executioner. Again, I need to catch up as to what facts are out there.
Here’s a piece of interesting info - only two of the nine dead bikers had any criminal history at ALL. One a DUI in ‘02 or something and the other for carrying in a bar.
