One of nine bikers killed at a shootout outside a Texas restaurant was a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient whose family members dispute police claims he was in a criminal group.
An Associated Press review of Texas court records and a database maintained by the state department of public safety turned up no criminal history in Texas for Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, 65, of New Braunfels. And his son Vincent Ramirez told the San Antonio Express-News that he was not violent.

“His life ended in mingling with gangs. Getting combat wounded 40 years ago doesnt give you free pass to act like a thug. A purple heart means you were wounded in battle, on one specific day, nothing more.
The Waco cops did fantastic. And the prosecutors and judge are matching them.”

I think you are either very badly misinformed, making unfounded assumptions (remember the old military saying “assumption is the mother of all f**k ups?), or a major league a**hole. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and hope you are in the middle category.
IMHO you, and others of similar mind, do FReepers a disservice when you justify mass murder (and an ensuing/ongoing coverup?) by Statist police. The cops who pulled the triggers in this massacre were NOT “serving and protecting”; they were committing unjustified homicides.
these adolescent street gangs and cycle gangs are a real pain in the ass...If you are over 12 years of age and think that gang involvement of any kind is macho....you are a childish boob. Riding your motorcycle next to another nitwit with your very same I.Q. does not make you a man....going to work, earning money, taking it home, raising responsible children, going to church, loving your wife, NEVER intentionally doing anything illegal (includes drugs)...is being a responsible, real man.
He was dressed funny.
I know there are a lot who agree with the action the police took. & I respect that. But I just have a gut feeling that something very bad happened there. A biker rumble usually doesn’t end in 9 man shot in the head and neck
What if you do ALL of that, AND ride a motorcycle... with like minded people?
Then what?
Summary execution at the hands of LEOs?
Why does our military, fighting brutal murderous terroristic savages overseas, have far more restrictive rules of engagement, than the friendly SWAT team in Dogpatch, USA?
I don’t know what to think of this incident. You’ve got violent biker gangs on one end, and SWAT teams armed with automatic weapons on the other.
In a sane world, I’d trust the “cop version”, but we all know our world is upside down. High bails, 170 arrests....
I’m still waiting on the riots in Waco, but we all know that only happens when natives get killed attacking innocent people.
going to work, check
earning money, check
taking it home, check
raising responsible children, check
going to church, check
loving your wife, check
NEVER intentionally doing anything illegal (includes drugs), check
let me add a couple:
defending your country, check (22 years Army)
helping your kids raise their family, check
helping others in your community, check
Is that enough?
Oh yeah, I also RIDE A HARLEY!!!
If you do all that, you don't have time to hang with jackass gangs....we have many cyclists in this area who are veterans of various military organizations who show up for veteran's funerals, national holiday celebrations, fund raisers, etc....responsible American citizens who support law and order....not drug addicted buffoons who get involved in gang fights and subject themselves to death to prove to nobody that they are tough guys.....they aren't....they are useless....
You’d have made a fine Kapo.
L
I have never been at a public place that bikers attend and “normal people” can’t go there. How “normal” are you?
YES...but I'm pretty sure that you weren't involved in gang activity resulting in 9 fellow cyclists being shot to death....
I certainly have no problem with motorcycles, 2 of my 3 kids ride a cycle (Harleys)..but they don't do drugs, don't intimidate others, don't try to prove to the world that they are tough guys...they are just good citizens who own motorcycles....
IMHO, people are making this more than it is.
Are you espousing that the organizational meeting at Twin Peaks was only attended by outlaw MCs?
Check post #99.
Are you kidding me?
Tell that to the parents, wives and children of the people who were executed.
Many of the bikers at this massacre are not part of that group of 1%ers either, but were shot and killed or arrested anyway. The article that generated this thread states Jesus Delgado Rodriguez was not a member either, but was killed just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unless you have some proof otherwise, you should be more careful with that brush your wielding.
They've got a story about it, but I want to see the video.
Right... the last time 9 people were killed by gunfire in broad daylight (stateside) was when? Possibly some, perhaps most killed by LEOs, was when? The wholesale arrest and charging of 172 people for identical crimes is beyond ludicrous. $1,000,000 bail? The confiscation and impoundment of all of the two and four wheel vehicles is warranted?
How do you know he was acting like a thug?
Does "acting like a thug" give the authorities free reign to shoot you down like a dog?
You need to do some soul searching, FRiend.
