PHILADELPHIA (CBS) A transit train driver says he saw a trespasser on the tracks moments before an unknown object struck a window on the train.
The SEPTA train was struck on the same night and in close proximity to the Amtrak train that derailed on May 12th in Philadelphia.
According to SEPTA officials, the engineer saw a trespasser on the track moments before an unidentified object smashed a window.

This story was there for pandering sensationalism that counted on the public equating "train" with the "AMTRAK Derailment".....they only included the disclaimer at the end of their sensationalized story to hook the viewer/reader's interest.
Further, I never once 'confused' this story with the real AMTRAK derailment story. I recognized from the outset the sensationalist BS that it is.
Show me where there is any justification, from ANY source, on your claim on this thread the trespass was related to the speeding up to 100 mph.
They were related only by the calendar.
Perhaps you also saw, on the same Philly TV page, where it states:
The two incidents so far have not been connected.
Post 10. “So. A trespasser is the reason to speed up to 100 MPH. This is diversionist BS.” ( Granted, I should have added a question mark after MPH but I’d though you guys were smart enough to recognize it.)
Secondly, the Philly TV station related the connection by AMTREK’s mention. FYI, the cite for the OP IS part of the thread and should be viewed IMO.
Lastly, I DID post “The two incidents so far have not been connected” bit. Read my last post. Apparently you didn’t. Regardless, my whole point in uselessly arguing with you is that this story was MEANT to confuse the two. I don’t twist and contort things. You misinterpreted what I meant all along and you are too much of a contrarian to admit it.
Wrong train.
I still don’t see how you thought one event was offered up as a justification for the other.
Do you think the report of the one event was supposed to pretend the major derailment in the same area, on the same day, never happened? Do you think because there was one major story they were not supposed to report the second?
No doubt that’s why he ACCELERATED to over one hundred miles per hour when the train was rated for only half that.
Or maybe someone threw a rock at the train and knocked it off the tracks...
or maybe someone fired a gun...
or a howitser...
or a nuke...
Yeah, that’s it - it must have been a nuke; one of those nukes that leaves no traces.
Or maybe someone just made a scary face. Or blew on it. Or maybe it was just the wind.
Whatever it was, it had nothing to do with the fact that the driver was going twice the specified velocity into a curve.
After all, he’s a homosexual, and American homosexuals never do anything incorrectly. It’s in all the newspapers, so I know it’s true.
