Bristol Palin and fiancé Dakota Meyer are calling off their wedding, which was set to take place this weekend.
Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced the cancellation of her daughter’s nuptials in a Monday Facebook post, writing the couple has “informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.”
Palin wrote that, although it won’t be a walk down the aisle, a shindig of some sort will still go on: “Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway — and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at ‘the old Kentucky home’ on May 23 to celebrate life, in general!” Bristol Palin, a 24-year-old former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant and mom to 6-year-old Tripp, had announced her engagement to Meyer, a Marine and Medal of Honor recipient, back in March.
Recently, the pair had been dogged by a tabloid report claiming Meyer had a “secret wife” whom he had married as a teen and subsequently divorced.

I do think there’s a reality TV flavor to the family overall.
I’ve not been as big a supporter as many people here have been. Anyone that supported John McCain for return to the U. S. Senate was scratched off my Christmas card list years ago.
Hearing how her endorsement of McCain didn’t help him at all, but her endorsement of other every other winning candidate made all the difference got old quickly.
Her voice had a certain Rosanne Bar flavor to it. It wasn’t exactly the same, but her voice does make me cringe.
Her’s is way down the list of opinions I desire to hear, when contemplating political issues.

I couldn’t agree with that....for it’s not ‘like’ as Clintons and Obama’s are still in office. I believe that will change once they’re out of offices.
But with the Palin girls, there is no achievement to go with the fame.

Well those types of things are what Hollywood type people do do. Ansell. They involve themselves in whatever area they can relate to and by doing so retain their public persona in the eyes of their fans. Books , Tv, Appearances etc. just go with the territory.
Bristol is NOT Sarah Palin nor will she ever be IMO. Until she matures and seeks something more meaningful that uses her own talents rather than ride on the coat tail of her mom.....I have not seen that yet and hope she will find her place that’s meaningful and uses HER talents. Meanwhile she is making money which is what she wants currently.

Lol, that’s funny. Bill Clinton is reverred by the Lib media even tho he hangs with convicted pedophiles. The Obama’s hung out with domestic terrorists before 2008 and the Lib media ignored that.
Your trust in the Lib media is naive.
I think having two high achieving parents can cause the children to make poor life decisions. One of them, the father in this case, should be full time stay at home during the critical 12-18 years old period. Take them out fishing, to their activities, watch TV with them, shadow them if necessary. Be a constant role model so that they will carefully select a man like you.
I raised three daughters and had none of these Palin problems.

Seriously, what has Bristol Palin done so wrong to make you want to attack her so?
I don’t know what could have made you so against her, her credentials as a conservative and pro-life activist seem great, and she has always used her charisma and resulting TV work, to serve conservatism as a good pro-life Christian conservative.
Why should you despise her?
