Elian Gonzalez would like to return to the United States, he tells ABC News in an exclusive interview.
"To the American people, first I say thank you for the love they give me," Gonzalez said. "I want the time to give my love to American people."
Gonzalez was found floating off of Florida's coast in 1999, after the boat he was in with his mother capsized. Gonzalez stayed with his uncle in Miami, but the 6-year-old boy soon found himself at the center of a tug of war between Cuba and the United States over whether he should remain in this country or be returned to his father in Cuba.
Today, Gonzalez says he'd like to come back to the United States, but only as a tourist, telling ABC News he'd like to see a baseball game, visit Washington museums and talk to Americans.
"For my family it has always been, we always have the desire to say to the American people, to say to each household our gratitude, appreciation and love that we have," he said. "Perhaps one day we could pay a visit to the United States. I could personally thank those people who helped us, who were there by our side. Because we're so grateful for what they did."

If Elian Gonzales were to tell the American media that he wants to move to the US and stay permanently, what do you think the chances are he'd be allowed to leave Cuba?!

makes sense. But when he comes and whats to stay let's have him record video of his intentions so Holder or some other kook AG doesn't round him up and return him so Obama can make nice with terrorists.

Nothing Clinton/Reno did would surprise me. But the fact that a vast majority of Americans cheered it opened my eyes.
I still have a hard time not crying when I see his name.
I’m pretty sure that there have been articles about him being a committed Communist, member of various Party youth orgs, groomed for leadership by the Castros, etc.
I’d put good money on him coming here, attacking his reactionary American family members, getting his photo ops with Jimmy Carter and Michael Moore, and using an audience with Obama to call for full normalized relations and trade.
Too bad he couldn’t stay here when his mother died trying to bring him to freedom. Thanks to Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Eric Holder and that wimp of a governor Florida had (Jeb Bush) he was indoctrinated into Communism. He may never be free from that.
He better wait until Obama is out of office. Obama wouldn’t let him stay any more than Clinton did.
I find it interesting Elian was grabbed by the Clinton Criminal Gang on a Sunday night and that Wednesday, SOUTH PARK had a takeoff on it in which the uniformed gunman kills Kenny (again).
The ABC News title should have been written thusly (IF they are concerned with accuracy and not sensationalism ):
