(CNN)—One of the last remaining sections of Antarctica's Larsen B Ice Shelf is dramatically weakening, according to a new NASA study.
The study predicts that what remains of the once-prominent ice shelf, a thick floating platform of ice, most likely will "disintegrate completely" before the end of this decade
Ice shelves are extensions of glaciers and function as barriers. Their disappearance means glaciers potentially will diminish more quickly, as well, increasing the pace at which global sea levels rise.

The environmentalists have admitted in another article that Antarctic ice is increasing. The Australians have a base station and the Aussies have to change the way that they supply the base because the ice field is growing.
If God wants it to melt, it will melt.

Even if they are right, have any of them been alive for 10,000 years to see how the ice developed? Do they honestly think it should be there for all time?
They are trying to rationalize geological time and quantify it to the lifespan of a human. Therefore the argument is already fundamentally flawed. I bet many geologists and astronomers don’t believe in global warming. Mostly it’s just politicians and people who have been labelled scientists by (here comes the shocker) career politicians.
One small slice of the Antarctic, I believe.
Other sections have record ice, as we all have read recently.
How about a map showing ALL, with color coding indicating more/less ice, NASA?

Ah, but that is the Arctic. Since that prediction proved to be as wrong as can be, they now have switched to the Antarctic. It buys them 5 more years. One can only wonder where they will have to run to when this prediction proves to be as wrong as the prediction by Gore regarding the Arctic. I’m guessing they are hoping they have their controls firmly in their grasp by then.
That’s what the fanatical left does not realize.
They’ve been pushing their stack incrementally for years. Ours has not moved. So they don’t know where it’s headed, or if we will even bet.
Once they push all in. Our stack will suddenly move and it will all be over then.
This ice is FLOATING on the sea, so therefore it displaces any water it would add and actually takes up an equal volume of water that would be added when it melts, so how can it cause any rise in ocean levels? This is the quality of “science” we can expect from these AGW types???
They aren’t scientists. They are people like Al Gore pretending to be scientists. Guy probably couldn’t even pass a high school chemistry, or physics class. Yet people believe it. Because Mr. Gore can fill real scientists pockets and bank accounts for them to simply claim “he’s right.”
If it weren’t for “global warming” — Chicago would still be under a mile of ice.

NASA will disappear by 2020.
It will disappear because it will be covered by ice miles thick and a bazillion square miles bigger than the continent is today.
