Its even more dire in unincorporated East Porterville than the last time CBS13 was there. Tulare County buys and trucks in water to refill tanks in peoples front yards.
In a sign of increasing desperation, some have resorted to stealing bottled water from their neighbors. A woman CBS13 spoke to says thieves ripped off the water pump she uses to wash her clothes and take showers that was hooked up to her tank.
Thankfully the county replaced it.
Andrew Lockman with Tulare County Office of Emergency Services says some go to nearby communities that have water and just help themselves.

Ah.
The wonders of federal government created crisis.
Californians...Coming to a State near you soon :-)
I shudder to think how many ‘natural resources’ or ‘conservation’ officers are on the payroll.
My dad used to tell of gunfights over water rights on the high plains when we lived there.
we live now in an area that sometimes gets real dry but we can put several deep wells in service if we need to.
Looks like the zombie apocalypse will begin there soon.
Wasn’t there a movie about fighting over water?
I bet the golf course are green and the artsy-fartsy fountains at hotels, malls, city parks, and gated neighborhoods are pumping.
I am personally ashamed to admit that, considering and remembering the deliberate actions of Californians regarding their “nature” decisions, “environmental” decisions, “water supply” decisions, “energy” decisions and “Save the Spotted Owl” decisions, I find to very difficult indeed to feel any concern or sympathy for them.
They are receiving exactly what they, in their superiority, worked, voted, wished, and pressured for.
Oh, wasn’t there once a rather good sized body of water off the coast that could have supplied some “desalinated water?”
Forget it, Jake.
“Wasnt there a movie about fighting over water?”
The Road Warrior?
I was also thinking of “Waterworld”...
And don’t I worry about it!
What about those that need to drill a new well? Will they be denied a permit to drill it !?!
I live in so cal in an area that is on the moderate/severe area. I delivered payroll yesterday to a client doing business in a gated community. There is a large water feature, man made pond and falls, at the enterance, and no water was running, and the water level was low. It never looked like this before. With our recent spring storms, well, any precipitation is welcome.
How do you brand water?
“If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.” - Milton Friedman ..........
Pee in it.
Don’t forget the thousands of swimming pools in people’s back yards that are rarely used.
