Remember after the first week of November 2014, so many were gloating “Elections mean something!” and gleefully believed that the GOP victories would turn this nation around?
Why is it you guys get to say all this but when I said it a few days ago I was wrecked for being isolationist!! double standard. It’s because I’m a yankee, I know it!! :)

Republicans have been in favor of free trade for as long as the preponderance of the business community has been, since the end of WW2, decades. It’s the far left labor scumbags (and a small number of protectionist Republicans) who have been standing in the way of this.
I do — and I told them that the only thing the landslide elections meant was that the GOP would take it as proof that (a) they don't need to DO anything, and (b) that saying "I'm not Democrat" is enough to win. — It is somewhat disappointing to see so many people didn't see it.
Yup, and now there appears to be some kind of mass amnesia about that phenomenon. You try to point that out, and you're hit with some who angrily say "I don't remember any such posts! Prove it!"
Anyone who thought that election would turn things around was looking for a fast fix. Don'e give up - keep fighting for more "victories" until we start getting enough traction to make a substantive difference. Either that, or change parties - the battle will be long and tedious; it took the Left over 60 years of concerted effort to get us where we are (with us on the sidelines watching but never getting motivated enough to mount an effective defense/counterattack) and there is no quick fix. Even seemingly big victories will yield only minimal effect until we accrue enough to start to counter the RINOs whose mission is to foil the Conservatives.
