We oppose secret legislation on principle. Who ever heard of such a thing in the USA?! It’s a dictatorship’s control technique , not a governance method in a representative republic. Oh yeah? Republicans have been in favor of free trade for as long as the preponderance of the business community has been, since the end of WW2, decades. It’s the far left labor scumbags (and a small number of protectionist Republicans) who have been standing in the way of this.

This presents a real conumdrum for Senator McCain. He wants to continue as one of Obama’s chief butt-wipers, but with another pesky election coming up he also has to make conservative knuckleheads back in AZ keep thinking he’s a Republican fire-breather.

there’s not a rational argument against free trade. what’s a pity is that we feel like we have to have a treaty ensuring it.
. . . and if it pisses off the labor unions, it’s got to have something going for it.
