Not really; the KY Constitution is explicit about the seizing of persons, it requires a warrant.
The police didn't have a warrant (or at least no mention of an actual warrant is made here or [from what I skimmed] in the reference you provided) — that's the whole story. (Claiming otherwise legitimizes ignoring the fundamental, the constitutional, laws and authorities under which law enforcement legitimately operates.)
Different story if child services are brought in.
Close to you, I believe?
True, though the important point is how Sec 10 of the KY Constitution was not upheld.
It makes sense that a complaint would not be made public due to privacy concerns for the kids although I doubt there is verifiable abuse going on in a truly free range household.
Me neither... looks like a mountain camp to me. Of course, up here in the Rockies, it would have to be a little more buttoned up, but I have seen worse.
It is not a suburban McMansion, surely, and to those who live in the McMansions I suppose it would be "disgusting."
There it is...
lol. How true. Go to THEIR homes and see how many men are having sex with their mommas on a weekend. I'd go riot too.
There's an awful lot of places I can think of that the number of G-men going in some place to grabs somebody’s kid would be greater than the number of G-men coming out of those same places upright.
CPS will take care of that, for sure, and quickly, so that the STATE and FOSTER PARENTS can collect from us!!
Well to whomever turned them in it seemed unsanitary and I guess the federals thought the same. But then, look at the living conditions of families during the Depression - was even worse. The Libtards need some kind of agenda to exist.
They live in horrible conditions. I don’t think the kids need to be taken away but they do need help. The kids are not homeschooled but they are allowed to learn what they want which includes hanging around talking. If they were homeschooled, I would be sticking up for this family but still request they get help from those already off the grid but are doing it right. They just need some assistance on how to raise children that is all. There is no manual on how to raise kids.
I doubt that any two people have the same criteria for defining “disgusting”. There are people in this rural area who live off-grid and gone Galt-I’m planning/setting it up for myself. There are people here who still have primitive septic systems, haul in their water and have generators for electricity.
There are as many kids homeschooled or in the small Christian school nearby as are in the public school. Kids walk down the roads in twos and threes-sometimes for miles. People mind their own damn business, or having been shunned, they soon feel the need to move elsewhere.
In areas of Alaska that are downright civilized, people still have outhouses because of the high cost of plumbing there. Many do not have running water. I doubt that 1/4 of the kids in remote areas go to a public school...
As someone who grew up on a remote ranch in a far-from-wealthy family, I’m guilty of having played in dirt/mud, roaming over 60 acres unsupervised, mucking around in barns among livestock-and making-oh, the horror-mud pies with my cousins for amusement, and getting filthy-but that is what a garden hose is for, people...
To this day none of us are sick, allergic, overweight-and we don’t use any drugs at all-we grew up eating fresh food produced right on the family’s land-I still eat only unprocessed food that I grow or barter with my neighbors....
It is no one’s business how someone raises their kids as long as those kids are not being abused-as in raped, beaten, etc-spanking and sitting in the corner don’t seem like abuse to me. CPS should not even exist-it is nothing but nanny nonsense that does far more harm than good for families and children.
I’d rather see a child brought up in a tent or shack, taught to read, write, do math and pray by their mom and dad than see them growing up in the projects with one parent, and learning nothing in a public school-but that is just my opinion...
I think if they were Homeschooling the kids they would be ok, but not having them in any sort of educational program is not good at all. The other thing is that this is 100 percent the Mom’s fault. She just had to brag or get attention on Facebook. If she would have shut her mouth, her kids would still be with the parents. She needs to look in the mirror a few times and realize that she made a huge mistake.
pfl
Kentucky can get cold in the winter. How do they keep the kids, especially the toddlers, warm in tents?
While it seems the state acted very heavy handedly, it seems intervention may have been warranted.
Isn’t this the kind of life the rabid environmentalists would like for everyone to lead? The only problem with this lifestyle is that there would be a need for using the trees for heating and building and the tree huggers would consider it murder to cut down a tree.
Only a fool ever posts anything on farcebook-anything-why would any intelligent person want to talk about themselves, family or their neighbors where it could even be read by people wanting to do harm to others?
She’s on Facebook? I didn’t realize they had electricity. I missed that part. Too busy looking at pictures. :)
And, of course, the kids need schooling, but bottom line..... they need their parents more. I can’t even imagine what the kids are going through right now.
Facebook is the devil in many ways; it’s a shame all around.
