It is with great pleasure that I rise in praise of Karl Rove, who now largely agrees with me that Republicans should place into the dustbin their bogus proposal to repeal ObamaCare.
In my recent column in The Hill, "The 'Clinton Cash' con," I suggested that the new book by Peter Schweizer proves absolutely nothing on the matter of whether Hillary Clinton committed any wrongdoing, and it is a con to suggest or imply otherwise. I add today a discussion of another con game by Republicans, the suggestion that they will repeal ObamaCare, which they know they will not do, but pretend they will to give red meat to the right-wing base; a promise they know they will not keep.
And now comes Rove, on the op-ed page of The Wall Street Journal and the other places he inhabits, telling Republicans (correctly) that their pledge to repeal ObamaCare is a bad and politically stupid idea. Rove's acknowledges (correctly) that it will not be repealed, and warns Republicans (correctly) they could pay a heavy price with voters if the Supreme Court overturns ObamaCare and Republicans have to face endless news stories about the bad things that happen to Americans if ObamaCare is overturned or repealed and Republicans have nothing to offer instead (which they don't). I believe Chief Justice John Roberts and a Supreme Court majority will uphold ObamaCare in its upcoming and monumental decision. I believe the court will agree with me that the legislative intent of the law is clear, that all exchanges should receive subsidies, and that they will agree with me that the havoc to healthcare and the painful damage to Americans from a decision against ObamaCare, or repeal of ObamaCare, would be a disaster.

Obamacare is a disaster if it’s repealed, and it’s a disaster if it isn’t repealed.
Who is this vile author?
Karl surrender to the left long ago.
The Republicans won last election largely on the promise of repealing Obamacare. I don’t know what this guy is talking about. Will there be a transition? I would think so. But the sooner the mistake is corrected the better. Just wait until the taxes for that nightmare go up and up and up — as they will every year.
“and Republicans have to face endless news stories about the bad things that happen to Americans if ObamaCare is overturned or repealed”
What bad things? Like being able to keep the doctors and plans of their choice? Like smaller premiums and deductibles? Like having their taxes cut? Like being able to find a doctor in a reasonable distance from their homes that will take their insurance? Like having their medical privacy restored? Like more hospitals being reopened that closed due to obamacare? Like millions getting their insurance back who were kicked off their old insurance due to obamacare?
Screw Budowsky and Rove, they both probably have fatter bank accounts for the support of this travesty by the RATS.
Buttowsky is a rat. Read the info about him at the bottom of the article.
Karl Rove is a bad disease that won’t go away.
Remember all of those concern trolls who insisted the liberal-republicans must be voted in? Remember when we said we won’t vote for Jeb or Christy and they said “Hillary thanks you?”
I’d like to drop a mountain on them.
Thanks...Aide to both Bentsen and Alexander. Sheesh!
Karl does not care so long as Karl is a player.
And Karl gets a paycheck.
Of course I can’t read minds but I am guessing Karl cares about Karl’s bank account and that’s about it.
What, with “skin in the game”?
Have they found out what the game is?
2005: “Rove, you magnificent bastard!”
2015: “Rove...you bastard.”
As much as I can’t stand Karl Rove, I do think his Mohammed cartoon should have won the prize at Geller’s event. I’ve never seen such a hilarious cartoon of Mohammed as the one submitted by Karl Rove. The cartoon that Karl Rove drew of Mohammed really made Mohammed look absolutely ridiculous and absurd. Hopefully Karl Rove will be around a long time to draw many more Mohammed cartoons as it seems he truly has a knack for it.
“The Hill” crowd of leftie pseudo-journalists love to scaremonger the Supreme Court.
Boy were folks singing his praises during the Bush administration...
From our side of the isle, some folks weren’t buying what he was selling. It became obvious he as a masterful RINO, misleading folks to his true intentions as best he could.
Today, he’s been outed for a long time.
The only people who don’t know, are the idiots that make up the GOPe, and sadly FoxNews.
How it grates some of us to see this man spoken of as a Conservative, and his policies trashed on that basis.
Conservatives bash him because he isn’t even close to a Conservative, and makes no pretense of it.
All he does is serve to destroy the brand Conservatism.
He’s a traitor to our cause, and I’m not convinced he hasn’t sold out our nation along the way. I see him as a willing accomplice to Barack Obama when all is said and done.
And if Hillary is elected in 2016, it will be in no small part because of Rove’s treachery.
