I don’t have a low opinion of them, but, soldiers are trained and drilled to follow orders. Keep in mind they followed orders to kill their fellow Americans in the distant past. I would wager 90% will do as they are told. What do you think?

There's a world of difference between 1860 and now, and the game on the ground is so vastly different that no comparison can reasonably be made between the two. However, I'd still put the number more at around 40% or so. The problem is that this number creeps upwards every year as more and more "old" military (i.e. the guys who joined for love of country, etc. and who are generally conservative, Christians, and so forth) retire, refuse to re-up, or are cashiered out. They're being replaced by Mexicans and other foreigners, gangbangers and other lowlifes, and other assorted rabble who will have no problem viewing old white middle class constitutionalist gun owners as "the enemy."

The fortunately thing is that mercenaries are usually not as motivated as volunteers. Likewise, the "new" military (the Mexicans, gangbangers, etc.) are generally neither as intelligent nor as competent as the guys they're replacing. Less initiative. Less innovative in their thinking. Less disciplined to follow orders and withstand military disciple.

At Ft Campbell they had an entire neighborhood of mock houses built so they could train urban warfare. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s better trying to do a mock up than going in cold.

Straw man much? I never said that. I said the US military will attack normal citizens. And they will do so with gusto. Starting with the Whiskey rebellion.
Look up Ludlow. Patton and McArthur did it at the Bonus march. Kent State,,There are so many times they have shot up citizens that its silly to argue they wouldn’t.

And all I say it that it is an exercise designed for future CONUS COIN operations on a very large scale, coordinating Military, and several federal and local agencies across several states.
I didn’t say this exercise was designed to arrest millions and confiscate 300 million guns. Nice strawman though.

Google up the 1968 riots and see how much US military force was deployed to stop the mass rioting in cities across the US.

Johnson deployed 5000 US troops to chicago alone.

Or Google the LA riots....the US military was deployed for that too

Troops from the 7th Infantry Division, and Marines from 1st Marine Division were deployed in LA

We have the 180th NG air wing here in Toledo....when I see a training sortie take off I certainly dont think “omg they are going to do air strikes on Cleveland (although it might improve the place...LOL)
