The NFL's Deflategate report is a disaster for Tom Brady
Business Insider ^ | 5/7 | Cork Gaines

Posted on 05/07/2015 6:15:29 AM PDT by TangledUpInBlue

While the investigation focuses on the actions of two employees, locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski, the report also concludes that Tom Brady "was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls."

This is a pretty damning accusation against one of the NFL's biggest stars.

The league's evidence against Brady centers on three main points: 1) his reaction to the condition of game balls used in a Week 7 game against the New York Jets in October, 2) how he interacted with McNally and Jastremski following subsequent games, and 3) how he communicated with the two after Deflategate exploded.

Hey, I don’t watch football! Just wondered why this gets big coverage. Wrong to cheat at sports. But big story again after the guy snubs the pres?

American’s are more worried about some damn air pressure on footballs than they are about what our government officials have done and are doing to this nation. Pay attention that the REALLY IMPORTANT issues.............

A disaster for Tom Brady? No, not in the least.

To me the crybabies are the ones pretending the whole thing is Obama’s fault or something. Brady got caught and now has to take his lumps. I suspect he will be more manly about it than his defenders.

American’s growing lack of ethics and personal responsablity is what is causing these problems and if you don’t see that or understand it you aren’t PAYING ATTENTION.

What I got from the texts was that the assistants don’t particularly care for Tom.

They cheated.
It could have been 45-17 or 45-27 or...

The final score was 45-7. Stop being a bunch of crybabies.

Yeah, because that was the only time they ever did it... unless, of course, you read the article and the text conversations, and realize that they had a pay schedule set up for it, multiple payoffs made for it, and it happened often enough for the deflator to feel like he was getting shortchanged from time to time, and get unhappy with Brady personally.

But apparently cheating is okay in your book, as long as it wasn't actually needed in the end, right? And this is only the third time they've been caught cheating in different major ways. Nothing to worry about there. Pete Rose merely bet on games, and created the impression that cheating might be taking place, and he was banned for life. Brady and Belichick get caught, repeatedly, in several Super Bowl years, and that's nothing to worry about. Right? Lance Armstrong should get his titles back, numerous NCAA Bowl wins should be restored to Miami and USC and others, SMU should get their Death Penalty reversed, and boxing should be trusted in all of their results. Right?

Its a big story because football is huge in this country. This is a big deal in the sports world.

So if we manage to win an election despite the fact that the Dems got 10,000,000 illegals to vote, and some of them voted twice or didn’t exist in the first place, that’s ok? Because we won anyway?

"I suspect he will be more manly about it than his defenders."

I think he will put on a blame game that will put Rev Al to shame.

Seems to me there is going to be a big libel lawsuit here...

You can have all the suspicions you want, but to make a public accusation you need a lot more proof than what we see here. It’s nothing more than speculation...

If they say the charges are probably true, then they are probably not true. There is no certainty stated. How would a sworn jury rule??

So we are going to convict a guy based on the probability he is guilty?? Is this America, or Iran??

In championship games, it should be the NFL providing footballs anyway.

Hopefully Brady pays a large penalty for this.

That someone ‘probably’ did something is not evidence nor substantiation of charges.

It seems that ‘probably’ is all they could come up with after 4 months of investigation.

Your ethics are questionable.

Your tag line “What did Hillary know and when did she know it?” seems particularly irrelevant today.

It’s nothing more than speculation...

And that itself is speculation. Don't get excited. Brady will be fine.
