Carly Fiorina Nails Katie Couric on Double Standards, Hillary Defense
newsbusters.org ^ | May 5, 2015 | Scott Whitlock

Posted on 05/06/2015 4:34:00 PM PDT by newfreep

FIORINA: Well, you see, Katie, in the world I come from, a title is just a title. I mean, you went through a whole bunch of things about me as CEO. You weren't impressed with my title. Why are we so impressed with political titles? Senator is a title. Secretary of State is a title. It's a completely legitimate question to say, "What has anyone accomplished with their title?" And the truth is, there are many in the political class who haven't accomplished a whole lot, despite their titles.

COURIC: What about the trustworthy claim (re: Hillary)?

FIORINA: Well, you know, I think when you know that Benghazi is a purposeful terrorist attack and you peddle a fiction for four weeks after that attack, that indicates you are not trustworthy. When you talk about a private e-mail server, that's not trustworthy. When it turns out that you were supposed to be disclosing all these foreign government donations to the Clinton Global Initiative while you were Secretary of State and you didn't and now the Clinton Global Initiative is having to restate their 990s, that doesn't sound very trustworthy to me.

FIORINA: A lot of times, women will come up to me and say, "You know, I'm very uncomfortable with the extreme position the Republican Party takes on abortion." And so, I'll say, "Do you know what the Democratic position is?" Most people don't, by the way. The Democratic policy is any abortion, any time, for any reason at any point in a woman's pregnancy, right up until the last minute, to be paid by taxpayers. Barbara Boxer described this policy as, "It's not a life until it leave the hospital." How do you feel about that? Most women are horrified. - See more at: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2015/05/05/carly-fiorina-nails-katie-couric-double-standards-hillary-defense#sthash.XSnNZKpJ.dpuf

Zeifman (her boss on the impeachment committee) said he regretted not getting Shrillary disbarred after he fired her.

Somebody should tell them all RATs are baby-killers.

I’m also solid for Cruz — but Carly can perform valuable service and do a lot of heavy lifting. She seems to understand that campaigning directly against the media is precisely the same thing as campaigning against Hillary and the Democrat machine; there is no difference. We need to be aggressive and not let them set the stage and establish all the premises for every argument. Carly gets it.

Clinton she would be a third-rate slip-and-fall lawyer, unless she’d been disbarred somewhere along the line.

She’d also be an admitted lesbian.

if she had not been married to Bill Clinton she would be a ....

She might be even more wealthy than she is today, but she abandoned her promising career as a cattle futures trader.

"None of the other candidates are talking about what the communist monster Obama is doing to ruin the Internet with his FCC imposing SOROS’ net neutrality regulations on it. Fiorina is talking about it."

NOT TRUE: There is a candidate who is doing something about it!

Stripping the FCC of it power over the Internet is the intent of a bill proposed earlier this week by lightning rod, Tea Party-affiliated Sen. Ted Cruz (R–Tex.).

Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act gives the FCC jurisdiction over "telecommunications services" to achieve a whole host of regulatory goals, like promoting competition and removing barriers to infrastructure investment. Without reclassifying ISPs as so-called Title II common carriers, which would essentially mandate net neutrality as an automatic requirement, Section 706 is what gives the FCC the ability to impose any rules on ISPs whatsoever.

If passed, Cruz’s bill would strip the FCC of its Section 706 authority, leaving the agency unable to enforce the plan approved by the Commission's Democrats that aims to prevent ISPs from slowing down traffic by non-toll paying content providers to levels below what they promised to consumers.

"The FCC's latest adventure in 'net neutrality' would stifle innovation and subject the Internet to nanny-state regulation from Washington,” Cruz said in a statement. ‟Internet freedom has produced robust free speech for billions and a wide-open incubator for entrepreneurs to generate jobs and expand opportunity. A five-member panel at the FCC should not be dictating how Internet services will be provided to millions of Americans.”

Cruz’s argument is that the Internet economy has flourished in the United States in recent decades simply because it has remained largely free from cumbersome government regulation. He charged that any regulatory changes to the way the government treats ISPs should come from the slower-moving, more deliberate legislative process.

‟Congress, not an unelected commission, should take the lead on modernizing our telecommunications laws.” Cruz continued. ‟The FCC should not endanger future investments by stifling growth in the online sector, which remains a much-needed bright spot in our struggling economy."

Thanks I didn't know that. what is the progress on that bill?

But you do know the monster Obama will Veto any bill right even those stopping his unconstitutional actions like this one would if passed.

I wonder if Cruz can do other thinks like having hearings for the FCC debacle that is meant to enslave us all. nothing is more important than freedom of speech and the people getting accurate information. and this is what Obama is trying to take away to control all the means of information production so that we get only what they want us to read as they took over the TV news

Thank God she has no chance. Could you imagine America being destroyed like she did with HP. Gives me shivers and just glad she will at most be visiting the White House as a civilian and nowhere near the office.

A few of these GOP candidates I would really love to see as the debate moderators as well as the interviewer of all the candidates including Mr. Clinton. (See, I remembered not to insult her by calling her Hillary.)

IMHO the VP slot is reserved for Kasich for all the candidates with the exception perhaps of Cruz. Kasich is a squish GOPe-er with the heart of a fascist collaborator who is very popular in the critical swing state of Ohio. I think he is a creep, but any of the possible candidates who need to shore up their bona fides with the Ohio voters. I would not vote for Kasich for dog catcher, but the Ohio voters seem to love him.

Absolutely. If nothing else, Fiorina’s candidacy allows her to beat up on those on the left who are using the “war on women” meme. She may be a good VP; I’ll have to hear more about her to say.

No. The reason the GOP is the “stupid party” is because they continue to re-elect people like Boehnor and McConnell. It’s also the “stupid party” because they continually snatch defeat from victory (with the help of their “leaders”).

As an Ohioan, ditto what you said re: “Kasick” - absolutely disgusting!

IIRC, he was one of the Congresscritters who exited quickly after the intern was murdered. Gary Conditt was involved if memory serves...

Kasick is beyond slimey and governs like a true RINO GOP-Establishment.
