A suspected home intruder was shot and killed by a homeowner Monday night after shattering a glass screen door and getting into a fight with the man.
Boulder police said there were several disturbances in the neighborhood involving the suspect before the shooting. Witnesses told police the suspect had tried to break into a number of homes, yelling at residents and banging on their doors and windows as he tried to gain entry into their houses.
A man and a woman were in the home at 98 Pima Court. Police said the couple was watching television when they heard the suspect banging on a window at the back of the house. The man told police he had the woman call 911 while he retrieved his handgun.
The male occupant told police that he feared for his life, police said in the news release.
The man was able to fire a single shot from his handgun, striking the suspect in the chest. The man was pronounced dead when police arrived.
The man and the woman, who have not been identified by police, fully cooperated with the investigation, police said. Neighbors said the man has lived in the some for some time.
Under Colorados Make My Day law, a homeowner has the right to shoot a home invader if they feel their life or the lives of anyone in the home is at jeopardy.

Say what?

I believe the reporter hit the s key instead of the h key.
Read this early in the Daily Camera.
Good shooting.
Boulder is a very Lefty city.
In all likelihood this was a Leftist home owner.
If so the “what’s good for me is not for thee” modus operandi thing is in full play.
A Hugh elk’s head? That’s series.
I laughed.
What kind of an idiot sees an obvious sign of the home being owned by people who might have a gun or five in their house and says, “THAT looks like an easy target!”
Good outcome.
Not all of them.
Considering that the homeowner hit the thug with one shot to the chest and ended him tells me he’s had some training.
The mounted elk head on the wall tells me he’s a hunter.
When I took my CCW class, one of the other students explained that he open carries in Boulder.
There are a LOT of lefties there, but there’s still some good guys.
The punk was 19-year-old Roberto Zamora.
Show me in the Colorado Revised Statutes where there's any such law entitled 'Make My Day'.
I see Colorado Revised Statutes 18-1-704.5, entitled "Use of deadly physical force against an intruder." but nothing as sensationalist as 'Make My Day' or 'Shoot The Carjacker' or 'Eat Lead You Dirty Hispanic Heathen' or 'Wildly Fire Shots At Shadows'.
That we let the media punks get away with this crap is the same as letting gun banners declare things to be 'Saturday Night Specials' or 'Assault Rifles' or 'Cop-Killer Bullets' or 'Minority-Seeking Missiles'.
Ridiculous. Good thing nobody reads newspapers and local news websites except for us anymore. Golly, they may be negatively influenced by agitation propaganda.

HUH? I’ve never heard of a glass screen door!
Those are the kind used on submarines
Only a hugh moose with a stuned bieber would be more series.
I’m surprised that a Boulderite owns and knows how to use a gun.
