U.S. Split Along Racial Lines on Backlash Against Police, Poll Finds

Americans are bracing for a summer of racial disturbances around the country, such as those that have wracked Baltimore, with African Americans and whites deeply divided about why the urban violence has occurred, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has found.

A resounding 96% of adults surveyed said it was likely there would be additional racial disturbances this summer, a signal that Americans believe Baltimore’s recent problems aren’t a local phenomenon but instead are symptomatic of broader national problems.

When asked to explain recent events in Baltimore and other cities that have seen confrontations between police and members of the African-American community, blacks and whites viewed the situation differently.

Asked to choose between two possible explanations for recent events, 60% of blacks said they reflected “long-standing frustrations about police mistreatment of African Americans.” Some 27% of black respondents said the disturbances were caused by people who used protests over an African American man dying in police custody “as an excused to engage in looting and violence.”

But among whites, the balance of opinion flipped: 58% said people were seizing an excuse to loot, while 32% said the events reflected long-standing frustrations with police.

While most people in the survey predicted further racial disturbances this summer, a smaller share expected them to hit close to home. The poll found that 53% of whites and 46% of African Americans said it was likely there would be a racial disturbance in the metropolitan area nearest to them.

Full results of the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, including public opinion of the 2016 presidential contenders, will be released on Monday evening.

I think if you polled African Americans who have never been arrested and gone to jail or prison versus white people who have been arrested and gone to jail or prison, you would see a very interesting disparity, too.

Before the Democrats "Great Society", their "War On Poverty", and abortion on demand, the cultures and life styles of most blacks and most whites were cloes to being one and the same in the most important aspects.

Blacks and whites basically dressed the same, gave their kids the same normal names, struggled to earn a living in the same ways in the jobs in the same factories.

In fact, blacks had an even higher rate of marriage and lower rate of illegitimate births than whites.

But in the last 50 years liberals have convinced blacks that everything in their lives happens, or doesn't happen because of their skin color and the racism of whites, bot only whites who aren't democrats.

This has led to blacks gradually departing from mainstream culture and developing their alternate culture where people call themselves African-American, speak differently, have low marriage rates but high out of wedlock birth rates, where women have 6 or 10 kids by different sperm donors all living on government handouts, where they give their children the most horrible, made up "black" names and where they ridicule other blacks for "acting white".

But the most important change has been the liberals success in convincing a large majority of blacks that the most significant aspect of their existence is their black skin. And that because of their black skin they are being victimized by whites and society in general.

Now we have a huge black population that is obsessed with skin color and think of themselves as "black" above all else. They have almost become a separate nation within America. They see their lives as a constant battle and struggle because of their skin color.

In general a white person will almost never think of their skin color when asked "who are you?" - They identify themselves as an American, a mother, a father, a homemaker, a Baptist, a Marine, a truckdriver, an enginerr, a doctor, etc.

But, thanks to fifty years of liberal brainwashing most blacks are obsessed with the color of their skins and place that at the top of the list when they self identify.

0bama does not want to give power to local and state police; he wants to federalize them just like everything else. He want a domestic force just as strong as our military, remember? He wants a big federal gestapo to go after anyone that opposes his regime and supporters.

True, the military has become weaker, demoralized and is now a less effective force when it comes to opposing a foreign enemy, and that’s intentional too. 0bama wants to weaken the U.S. military make America vulnerable to foreign attack. Because, that’s what an enemy does, and 0bama is an enemy of America. Furthermore, weakness entices a foreign enemy to attack, and with a foreign attack on America, 0bama would gain much more public support and justification for more federal control.

0bama does not care if inner city blacks have power either. He wants them busy fighting against police and whites which further justifies federal police control.

The real enemy is 0bama and the federal government. They in turn are working for the international elite. That is what this is all about. Have the peasants fight among themselves while providing the rationale for federal tyranny and global control!

These riots are all part of the progressive party’s plan as Obama has been playing divide and conquer,stir up one group against the other for years. These folks want more freebies and the Dem party is trying to justify the riots, burning and thieving by claiming it is all about race and class. We have thrown some 15 plus trillion bucks to fight Johnson’s war on poverty and these clowns refuse to try to learn in school. They blame their teachers plus everyone else. I say make them work cleaning, painting, picking up trash,just do anything so they do not have free time to do nothing. Baltimore has one sorry, ignorant, bunch of so called High School grads. Only 18% can read at 8th grade level! Some 1/10 of the city are addicts. Hilliary wants them to get more money and do little or no jail time. I recall riot training at Bragg in 67.

I don’t think so; cops watching these things unfold are just “standing down”; they have high-paying, secure jobs that are now better than most jobs in this country, and they won’t risk it for anything. As a cop friend here in NJ says, since the whole racial profiling nonsense years ago, “We write accident reports”...and the violent crime has soared since. NJ has a black population proportionate to the rest of the country, and a dense population at that; these cases are why we have few such shootings like this. The cops couldn’t be bothered; instead, they contain the problem populations and protect those that pay their salaries.

The people I feel most sorry for are the folks with small, independent businesses in the neighborhoods that will be destroyed by the criminal thugs and dupes induced to riot by Demokommie agitators. These business people are almost all people of color and are working their tuccuses off trying to achieve the American dream. Too bad their political masters will be putting them at the epicenters of the spaces to be destroyed.
