U.S. Split Along Racial Lines on Backlash Against Police, Poll Finds

Americans are bracing for a summer of racial disturbances around the country, such as those that have wracked Baltimore, with African Americans and whites deeply divided about why the urban violence has occurred, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has found.

A resounding 96% of adults surveyed said it was likely there would be additional racial disturbances this summer, a signal that Americans believe Baltimore’s recent problems aren’t a local phenomenon but instead are symptomatic of broader national problems.

When asked to explain recent events in Baltimore and other cities that have seen confrontations between police and members of the African-American community, blacks and whites viewed the situation differently.

Asked to choose between two possible explanations for recent events, 60% of blacks said they reflected “long-standing frustrations about police mistreatment of African Americans.” Some 27% of black respondents said the disturbances were caused by people who used protests over an African American man dying in police custody “as an excused to engage in looting and violence.”

But among whites, the balance of opinion flipped: 58% said people were seizing an excuse to loot, while 32% said the events reflected long-standing frustrations with police.

While most people in the survey predicted further racial disturbances this summer, a smaller share expected them to hit close to home. The poll found that 53% of whites and 46% of African Americans said it was likely there would be a racial disturbance in the metropolitan area nearest to them.

Full results of the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, including public opinion of the 2016 presidential contenders, will be released on Monday evening.

Prediction: There will be another (or several more) Trayvon/Ferguson/Tulsa incidents by the dog days of summer. And that is when the cops will be found not guilty.

Fuse, meet match. BOOM!

Looks like the commie community organizer has got his wish, racial strife and anger against the police. This is a two fer.
Now, there is justification for more federal control of police and police militarization.
Classic tactics to justify more federal tyranny.
We’re Nazi Germany’s early 30s, and people better wake up. This isn’t America anymore.

BS. They aren't my problems. I didn't create them and I'm not interested in fixing them. Let them clean their own litter box.

Baltimore’s city council approved a bill last year that would have required police to wear camera. However, the measure was vetoed by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake over questions about funding and whether the council had authority. Maybe they will be applying for a DOJ grant now.

Then why vilify the very people whom you want to give power? If anything, the loss of spirit also includes loss of capacity to reason. The military and police are going to downsize, and the bullying of Christians will continue.

Both.

However, the real reason is the strategy to provoke enough civil unrest to justify the declaration of martial law and the establishment of a coup d'état in the United States.

OK black racists. Regarding blacks in prison:

Who else is committing all this black-on-black crime? What do you want done with them?

I'm convinced it'll happen even if they are found guilty.

Right according to odumbo’s plan. This is no coincidence.

It’s way past time for odumbo to take a ride in a police van.

Both the incident on Staten Island ("I can't breathe") and the incident in Baltimore may very well,IMO,have involved one or more forms of negligence by one or more of the cops involved. But my gut tells me that criminal intent wasn't a factor in either case.Of course the families could sue for negligence and would stand a good chance of winning.

But criminal charges? Not from where *I* stand.

My grandkids, their grandkids and many more generations will have the same or similar conversation about the black condition.

I’m not that old, but as a young teen, lived not too many miles from the Watts riots (1965). I remember all the discussion then.
