Over the past several months, Mediaite has produced a handful of posts asking the question: Where is Fox’s The Five co-host Bob Beckel? ...
In our first report, we noted that Fox told us Beckel was out receiving and recovering from back surgery. However, our own sources at the network indicated there was more to the story, including possible addiction (as cable watchers know well, Beckel is open about his drug history). And now Fox confirms that there is, indeed, an addiction therapy element to the story after all.

Prayers to him and I hope he recovers. Addiction is not fun...I know about addiction and I lost about 10 years with it. I got help and I’m glad my wife helped me.
Don’t agree with him - ever - but he comes from an old school place of caring... Bob Beckel’s in my prayers.
I wish him well, and I hope he comes through this and sheds his liberalism once and for all.
Maybe when you are faced with a situation bigger than yourself, you realize you don’t have all the answers.

I'll watch again when Juan departs and Rip Van Beckel comes back. In fact, I'll welcome him back joyfully. They may permanently replace him with someone who actually knows how to promote the liberal position.

Bob has been very open about his problem with substance abuse. He has been pivotal in helping many many addicts right the course. I hope he gets control of this cunning, baffling, and progressive disease. It is deadly. He is lucky that we come from a God that gives second, third, and fourth chances.
It sounds like this is now a prescription pain medication addiction. Not surprising for many folks that have back problems and need medication.
Sometimes (not often) Beckel will let slip a very conservative view of some subject yet the other “Fives” don't even understand the point.
In Beckel’s youth, there were conservatives in both parties and he falls back for a second.
