Over the past several months, Mediaite has produced a handful of posts asking the question: Where is Fox’s The Five co-host Bob Beckel? ...
In our first report, we noted that Fox told us Beckel was out receiving and recovering from back surgery. However, our own sources at the network indicated there was more to the story, including possible addiction (as cable watchers know well, Beckel is open about his drug history). And now Fox confirms that there is, indeed, an addiction therapy element to the story after all.

Well, one of them is a GOP official so while he may be a Republican, I would be surprised if he’s a conservative.
That is so true. Back surgeries have caused a lot of drug problems for some. Rush was one famous example.
And we here are giving Beckel the same treatment the nasty liberals gave Rush. Silly me, I thought we were better than that.
Hope he has a successful recovery. Wouldn’t doubt for a minute that Rush himself will call Bob with encouragement, btw, and we would never hear a word about it. That’s quite a club- those suffering prescription drug addiction. They must have mutual sympathy.

The two of them in the same room together is hilarious- they were on redeye one evening- quite funny to watch them bickering together-
And Chris Matthew’s brother is a Republican activist.

It would be interesting if someone has the resources to go back and get the Beckel quotes about Rush and his pill taking.

As someone who has seen affects of drug addition, I join you in wishing Bob a speedy recovery and I hope he can stay clean.
I pray that my niece will get and stay clean.
It’s been a long time, but I can sure relate to how bad back pain can be.
“The Five” needs him. If it weren’t for Dana Perino I wouldn’t watch it at all.

I’ve missed having to exclaim; ‘Shut up Bob!’, every 90 seconds. I hope when he gets clean that he’ll be able to complete a thought without interrupting himself.
His drug of choice is alcohol, as are many on this forum. I pray for him.
Jerk that he is, I’ll give Beckel a pass on this because he’s dealing with the same thing that Rush had to, and I have in fact had family members get addicted to pain medication while dealing with their own medical problems. It’s really easy to fall into that trap, so I hope he recovers.
Let’s be careful about this. I hate liberalism as much as the next person, but addiction knows no ideological lines. I believe Bob is a Believer and has pro-life tendencies. Let’s pray that he gets well and overcomes this!
I hope when he’s in rehab he learns what the word “anonymous” means.
He was always yapping about his AA meetings on TV,and that’s a no-no.

He mentioned that the other night saying he thought a large part of that was that they grew up in Washington D.C. and saw first hand how all the Democrat Leaders in the area were failing the people....and Marrion Barry doing what he did.
