Despite a firm denial by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, a senior law enforcement source charges that she gave an order for police to stand down as riots broke out Monday night, raising more questions about whether some of the violence and looting could have been prevented.
The source, who is involved in the enforcement efforts, confirmed to Fox News there was a direct order from the mayor to her police chief Monday night, effectively tying the hands of officers as they were pelted with rocks and bottles.
Asked directly if the mayor was the one who gave that order, the source said: "You are God damn right it was."
The claim follows criticism of the mayor for, over the weekend, saying they were giving space to those who "wished to destroy."

No, she really did say that. May not be what she meant but it is what she said.

Michael Nutter, Mayor, Philadelphia
Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Mayor, Baltimore
“No, she really did not say that.”
Respectfully, you are FOS! She really DID say that! Now, it may not be what she meant to say, but it IS what she DID say! And it would not be an issue today if she simply owned up to “mis-speaking,” but by her follow up statements, she has locked out any way to recover. She should be removed from office, and replaced by a race neutral, competent white person.
Valerie Jarrett in ‘Regular Contact’ With Baltimore Mayor
this is the Problem
Mayor is denying that she told police to ‘stand down’.
She is also denying that she said she was giving the rioters room to destroy.

The Mayor seems to have a real problem with language and the meanings of words. Or maybe, her mouth is disengaged from her brain so she has no knowledge of what words are coming out of her mouth.
...and she was told to give the order by VJ.
And if your home or business was left on the side of the police line abandoned by the mayor?
After Ferguson, especially, she should have assets ready and should have used them against the rioters.
Good catch. Just scanning through that document tells me it’s a witch’s brew of more Fedzilla over reach. No wonder Mizz Mayah of Baltilluja was having conference calls with Jarrett. She was getting her marching orders.
This was known a couple of days ago.
VJ... vaguely obscene... ah, yes, “V-JayJay” is the term.
Duh Mayor is currently the Secretary of the DNC. One might guess she has frequent contact with the Outhouse.
Ah, collusion.
Sicon,I understand what you’re saying, but she still used the words she used, misstatement or not. Her later attempt to clarify her earlier statement doesn’t mean squat to the people who lost their businesses and jobs because the professional thugs took her at her words.
But I believe the real effect is yet to come when insurance claims are either rejected because of her words, or future policies come with drastically increased premiums. As I said in an earlier post what company wouldn’t take steps to protect itself from a mayor that could give her blessing to the mob to trash the city again in the future, intentionally or not? Businesses close, the city tax base shrinks, city services are curtailed, etc.
We may be looking at the birth of a new Detroit...

I think Obama had his fingers all over this.
When city infrastructure is damaged, the city can then apply for federal aid recovery money, which of course is always more than what is actually needed to renew the damaged area. I’ve seen this “let it burn” attitude elsewhere in government.
Curfew should have been in place no later than 8:00PM on Monday.
Why were they given a whole 24 hours to continue their lawlessness?
What would Giuliani have done ?
They did ask her, but she has since denied saying it. That pretty much ended that.
“Curfew should have been in place... on Monday”.
They knew about all the tweets concerning violence and the mall location. IMHO... the NG should have been activated on Monday much earlier. Once the mall was looted.. it should have been done.
