It wasn’t a US ship. The registry country is nothing to do with the ownership (heard the term “flags of convenience”?). The ship owner is Maersk, which is a Danish company.
American owned is what threw me. Still, their navy is nothing and to the world we are looking more and more like a joke
Doesn’t being an American owned ship lend itself to any National protection? I don’t know, just asking :)
