The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Thursday urged the people of Baltimore to continue their peaceful protest and expressed his faith in the leadership of Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
"People have shown great restraint. I hope they maintain that restraint," Jackson said. "The worst thing that could happen is people are indifferent to this killing, and do nothing. ... The police wagon became a tomb."

I’ve heard a lot of bizarre things blamed on drugs, but your spinal cord will melt in the space of an hour is a new one.
Still. The idea that there was an anti-black jihad by the fuzz going on has gotten SO HYPED UP that the only thing that happens in the face of a situation like this is to RAGE.
So what’s being implied... either the drug “caused it” (how?) or he somehow deserved this extrajudicial sentence?
Why did he say that? Does he not realize this might make the black people there even angrier?
I’ve never been caught in such a “protest” but my parents were. They survived unscathed but I spent an afternoon seething while washing the spit off of their battered car.
like I said, there was a slaughter of homeless whites going on in some state I forget which. Whites protested but none of this happened. Why? civilized its called.
these things aren’t working, aren’t contributing, are dying for something like this to occur. plain and simple.
That would make a great rap song! If there is such a thing.
What "peaceful protest" is that? You mean the riots that so far have put at least two cops in the hospital?
I did read that spinal cord infraction’s can be caused by long term cocaine use. - spinal cord infractions and cocaine use - there a rarity, but can happen. Six years of arrest record for Graye. Does anyone know the location of the spinal injury? I was out of the loop on FR from April 22 - April 26, as I had surgery.
Could imply anything, really, from the cops being so tired of this guy’s act that they fatally assaulted him, to Freddie freaking out on cocaine and injuring himself while the cops tried to subdue him, to Freddie having some sort of narcotics-related seizure. Whatever the implication, it’s instructive to know the world Freddie was existing in. That’s important background when the media tries to make him another “gentle giant.”
Except in this case there is no “gentle giant” claim being made.
It is disturbing that you should deem it acceptable that his “world” would justify an assault.
his statement,,,about “peaceful” was made last thursday and even then he KNEW that there would BE little “Peace”: by Monday!
its AWL about the Money!! it took him until last night to FInd a willing “donor”......
a very short lived...peaceful protest
I seriously doubt that ANYONE ...Anyone I say....has ever accused Jesse Jacksome as being very bright
Just today I saw a hard takedown of a thug in the streets during the coverage of the rioting. It was very rough because the perp made it rough and that alone could account for broken bones.
I’m not saying its what happened to Grey but anyone who says it couldn’t happen in the normal occasion of an arrest is an idiot or a liar.
Back when I was in school one of my classmates on the wrestling team was partially paralyzed with a broken neck and he got up and walked off the mat before collapsing.
the “protestors” not exactly being geniuses themselves...forgot that the mayor updated that “peace” space” nonsense since her original proclamation..with a far more restrained tone.
I don’t think you quite get what I’m saying. One way or another, whether the cops were responsible for his demise or not, Freddie’s life and death were directly related to the drug-fueled kind of world he was living in on the streets. Not blaming him, just saying it’s tough to come out of that environment alive and well.
Of course he knows he’s enflaming people with his usual JIVE.. Rhetoric.
Diversion.
