George Stephanopoulos got aggressive yesterday in challenging author Peter Schweizer on his book Clinton Cash. But in relying on the principal talking point proffered by the Clinton campaign, he indicted himself on charges of bias. Ramesh Ponnuru and Scott Johnson both picked up on the irony. From the ABC News transcript:
STEPHANOPOULOS: As you know, the Democrats have said this is -- this is an indication of your partisan interest. They say...
SCHWEIZER: Well...
STEPHANOPOULOS: -- you used to work for President -- President Bush as a speechwriter. You're funded by the Koch brothers.
How do you respond to that?
SCHWEIZER: Well, George, what did I do when this book was completed?
I went to the investigative unit at "The New York Times," the investigative unit here at ABC. I went to the investigative unit at "The Washington Post." And I shared with them my findings, OK. These are not cupcakes. These are serious researchers and investigators.
And they are confirming what I've reported. So people can look at the facts and...
STEPHANOPOULOS: They haven't come -- they haven't confirmed any evidence of any crime.
SCHWEIZER: Well, but -- but it's not up to an author to prove crime. I mean do you think that when people first started looking at Governor McConnell or they started looking at Menendez, that they immediately had evidence?
You need subpoena power. You need access to records and information. You need access to e-mails.
There's all sorts of things that you can do. You can't leave it up to an author to say that an author has to prove a criminal case.

The American Press = Paid Democrat Liars
He was the malignant dwarf of the klinton machine.
My response would have been: “George, why are you pretending to be a journalist. You worked for the Clintons. In fact, your nose is so far up Hilary’s ass, when you sneeze she burps.”
Pence’s “Deer in Headlights” moment that could cost him the governorship next year. It certainly killed any national aspirations he had.
But that’s difference between politicians and journalists. When dealing with a paid hack like Snuffleupagus, a real journalist will tell them to go to hell. A politician will only think it.
Because he's connected at the hip to the movers and shakers in the Democrat party and has access to anyone there that ABC may want to interview.....
As for his participation on GMA, he sticks out like a sore thumb. He's a midget and I laugh every time I see him standing with the others towering above him......
From Wm. Shakespeare - Henry VI.
“Schweizer: “Didn’t you used to work for President Clinton? (should have happened this way)”
Schweizer was prepared, knew this was going to be the attack and that Stephanopoulos was baiting him for such a response - and would have been prepared to take the interview a totally different direction if he could make it personal in that way. I think that’s what caught the little boy off guard, he didn’t control the substance of the interview.
IIRC in 0bama’s first term, there would be a meeting of some type, EVERY morning for many months, which was George S, 0bama, and Rahm E. The topic was related to shaping the message and keeping the media on board for 0bama’s agenda. This was while George S was employed by ABC. I don’t know if the 0bama camp also paid him, or it was “volunteer” work.
Why this Author and people like the Indiana Governor allow themselves to be interviewed by Stephanopoulos is beyond me. He is a known Dem. attack dog. Remember the Contraception questioning of Romney? Do people forget his role in working for the Clintons?
Brilliant move by the author to do an investigation of Bush as well, can’t wait for the hack Stephanopoulos to interview he author on that one,I’m sure he will repeat a hundred times, but you don’t have any evidence,Republicans say you are a hack, you made it all up,you work for the Koch Brothers!
Just substitute Hillary for Bush,Uranium 1 for Halliburton, and the various actors for the Koch Brothers and man you will have the investigation of the century!
