We still don’t know what happened to Freddie Gray in Baltimore earlier this month, aside from the general agreement that he died in police custody with a nearly severed spine. The city’s leaders have been out in front of this, delivering information to the public as it comes in and investigating every aspect of the incident. There is clearly the possibility that there was police misconduct – or at least negligence in prompt medical care and safety precautions – going on, but the facts are still being gathered. Following yet another press conference where the mayor and the police commissioner brought citizens and the local clergy up to date at the end of the week, protesters delivered their response. We’re going to shut this city down.
Protesters vowed to shut down the city by marching through the streets and snarling traffic. The president of a black lawyers group predicted thousands of people would turn out for the demonstration, when good weather is forecast and the Baltimore Orioles host the Boston Red Sox.
Things will change on Saturday, and the struggle will be amplified, said Malik Shabazz of Black Lawyers for Justice. It cannot be business as usual with that mans spine broken, with his back broken, with no justice on the scene.
Shabazz has demanded the arrest of six officers involved in the arrest of Gray, who died Sunday a week after suffering a spinal injury while in police custody.
The officers are suspended with pay and under criminal investigation by their own department. The U.S. Justice Department is reviewing the case for any civil rights violations, and Grays family is conducting their own probe.

Just do us a favor and burn it to the ground.
In other words prevent people from going to work, the ones who pay for the crap done by the demonstrators who don’t work at legitimate jobs.
“Malik Shabazz of Black Lawyers for Justice.”
A frequent visitor of Barack Obama of Black Former Lawyers for Just Us.
oh that was “another Malik Shabazz ..mot the famous Malik Shabazz “ i forgot that part of the scenario...../
I went to Baltimore once but it was closed.
Will anyone notice?
Be my guest. Do whatever to them that they allow you to do.
Since the rioters have telegraphed their punch, I have the perfect solution:
All cops in the area should take the day off, and tell all the shopkeepers “You’ll have to defend your shops yourselves. We’ll be back Monday to help clean up, and make sure the streets are clear for traffic.”
P.S. Fire Department will be taking the day off as well. They’ll be back Tuesday.
Stop all police, fire, ambulance or any other taxpayer financed and supported services from any sections of any inner city that erupts in violence or has more than a common share of crime and illegality. Stop all taxpayer supported financed income and payments to those who live in those neighborhoods. When the “culture” reforms, slowly allow those services and payments to be restored.
Since they commit so many crimes it is definitely in their interest to have a gentle police force.
Addendum: Shoot on sight any violent protesters. Free fire zones for anyone legally carrying, too.
If shabazz and his minions were to react to every death of young black men in Baltimore, they would be having these “protests” 365 days a year. Baltimore, like other urban $hitholes across the US, is rife with daily black on black murder which doesn’t seem to concern the hypocritical “black lives matter” mobs.
The protesting class noticed that Loretta Lynch was confirmed with nary a peep of opposition from anyone except Cruz. They know that it’s full steam ahead. If Holder had their backs, she certainly will, and the GOP certainly won’t slow them down.
I was in Baltimore a few weeks ago, before and after a cruise from their port. FWIW, the city has done a real good job making tourists feel safe and welcome.
It is all a ruse.
Malik Zulu Shabazz was National Chairman of the New Black Panther Party. Funny, no mention.
Another excuse for the perpetually offended “Gimmedats” to take what they are too lazy or ignorant to earn.
Seems to me if there aren’t any guns allowed to the common citizen or shop owner, there isn’t a defense against against hundreds of protesters who assure themselves of superiority before they even get riled up.
The one chance they had getting beat down was after the ball game when the patrons were going to be let out. But the police for some reason kept the potential from better odds and a real beat down (deserved) of them. In my opinion, it was a mistake that would have taught the protesters a very valuable lesson in numbers.
Trying to make it look like Haiti? Detriot?
At least they’re consistent.
